SUCCULENT-C - 21st Century Box EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 003

1. 21st Century Box
2. Tune Army
3. Shock Dem
4. I Need
5. Vagrant Dub
6. Brakitry

The third release on UK TRENDS is a 6 track EP from Succulent-C. Four years in the making this debut release for Succulent-C sees six tracks of bass heavy, wonky and abstract beats surface after creating destruction on the airwaves and dancefloors. 21st Century Box and I Need hold the world record for rewinds with the bass devastation destroying the dance time after time whilst Tune Army and Brakitry both build to explosive drops. Junglist beats roll out against the deep subs and abstract atmospheres to create pure dancefloor vibes.

ABAGA Records - Strangled Helicopter

ABAGA Records - Strangled Helicopter EP (ABAGA005)

01. Tactus - Jackals
02. Camphor Haze - Out Of My Depth
03. The Mighty Cornelius - Santa Muerte
04. Tactus - Home Guider
05. The Mighty Cornelius - The Black Meat
06. Camphor Haze - Drifter

Available at:

A bass driven snarling number kicks off the Strangled Helicopter EP, Jackals (by Tactus) embodies everything that is good about dubstep. Dark and unforgiving, changing direction and taking the listener to a whole new level this is a mature sounding track, clearly the production levels have been stepped up lending this a much cleaner sound. You cannot help but get swept away by this track, Jackals captures the mood just right; a big tune in the making.
Track 2 Out of my Depth (by Camphor Haze) is a whirling wall of sound which engages listeners straight away. Upon listening to this I pick up subtle little changes, which I personally find fascinating, a great insight into how the producer is thinking at the time. Out of my Depth grows as a track and you will end up falling in love with this tune for sure.
Like a sledge hammer, Santa Muerte (by The Mighty Cornelius), hits you square between the eyes. The kind of track that makes me sit up and take notice. This is one of my favourites off the EP; a futuristic dubby sound vibrates around your head. A full on track not one for the faint hearted it races along not letting up at any point. It engulfs you and then spits you out.
Track 4 (Home Guider by Tactus) takes no prisoners, it shakes you with both hands pounding and pulsating, intermingled with a sharp, hard thrust of base. It would be interesting to hear this on a full P.A system, as I believe this track has all the potential to blow your head off and leave nothing behind but your size 10’s.
The Black Meat (by The Mighty Cornelius) is a slow seductive number following on from where Home Guider left off. It moves with ease intoxicating senses with the ability to delight listeners, drawing them in and then throwing a curve ball that leaves them stunned.
Drifter (by Camphor Haze) is the final track of the EP; it sticks two fingers up and announces itself aloud and in your face. This is a great way to finish an EP which will leave you wanting more. All in all the tracks successfully compliment each other with the style and dignity you would expect from Abaga.

A producer hailing from the outskirts of London, England...Swiftee kicked off his producing career at the tender age of 14, where his first release 'Think Twice' a sublow/grime anthem grabbed the attention of the industry. The next release 'In The Shadows E.P' was an instant hit in the grime scene, with the four instrumentals being rinsed by every top DJ in and out of the country and vocalled by the top MC's of the time (L Man, Griminal, Stormin', Mercston, Chipmunk, The list goes on....) Now the talented musican has his attention to the freshest music to emmerge for years, Dubstep... His first dubstep release 'The Strange Thoughts E.P' will be avaliable to purchase late August under the well respected Sweden based label 'Bass Punch Records' The E.P Consists of 3 very well produced Dubstep tracks, such as “How To Slap A Man”, “Strange Thoughts” and “Random”.

Watch out for many more Swiftee releases to come in the near future...

ANDREZ BERGEN
"DEEPPRESSO"
(Auricular USA)

Deeppressed, with an extra 'p'?

Our favorite multiple personality disordered artist returns with his sophomore release for Auricular Records.

This is an all new collection of original material in the same vein as his previous Auricular release of collected works. This release however stands out with hypnotic rhythms and crazed samples spliced 'n' diced and strewn together in a dark weave of mayhem which brings comfort to madness and an engaging listening experience to divine chaos!

Sample sounds and release details here, thanks to Auricular, along with that J-English cover art:

...Sorry about the self-indulgent posting, but I don't expect anyone else to bother on my behalf, so had to motivate myself to swallow pride, act nonchalant, and post it up anyway. Hmm. I guess this confession is pretty distant from nonchalant - so go figure... ;)

The Architect LP

Image

The first LP, and fourth release on X-Zero Productions has a mix of styles and moods that reflect X-Zero's versatility as a producer, and his willingness to explore different ideas.
Not one to be pigeon holed, he just creates for the expression.
Deep, chilled sounds are catered for, as well as heavy, dark sounds. Atmospheric and melodic in places, cold and sparse in others.
Taking inspiration from movies (just listen for the quotes), he has tried to give this album a cinematic feel, that will work at home as well as on the dancefloor.

2. Fluteyfull
