Acetate dubs wear out. Basicly it's just an aluminium (or whatever) disc with a layer of lacquer.
You have houses that cut dubs on vinyl though.

although i have yet to play a acetate dub, I think it was either benga or mala's redbull academy interview saying that acetate dubs do not wear out as fast as some state, I have heard 30 plays from some? I think they last much longer. Anyone know more on it?

Damn, I'm not quite as gangster as you guys. Keep in mind with the answers I'm still largely just a bedroom DJ, pretty much fresh outta school, and just started havin the money to order myself some dubstep at the turn of 09 - selections kinda scarce in Calgary.

Rarely, just taking advantage of parties that I can play at.

2. How often do you buy records?
I've made an order roughly once a month since February, theres the odd time checking record stores around town, but thats usually looking for non-electronic music.

3. How much a month do you spend on records?
About 80 pounds an order with S&H but it varies, when I went to New York in March I spent about $350 American at Fatbeats. I'm jealous of this dubloke buddy who spends 350-500 pounds a month. I wish I had that kinda disposable income, and I'm about to go back to school too!

4. About how many tunes are in your current rotation?
Tunes? I got no clue, just under 60 sleeves for dubstep, so thats EP/LPs AND singles. Was only really collecting hip hop for the longest time and I got like 5 crates of that. Im tryna play catchup with ya bastids

Nope, it costs way too much. I have a few things I'd like to get cut, but it's too pricey, and I don't want to use CDJs...

mainly because they seem 'wrong' but also because I never have, and don't fancy my first time being at a live gig (thats the only time id get acces to them.) And theres no fucking way im paying like 2 grand for a pair of cd players.
