Was laughing at this. Stupid woman.

Not liking this. I wanna hear new D1 without american rappers over the top, any chance of just the instrumental?
it's on his 'trial run' ep on tempa

Yeah that set a bad mood for the rest of the tune. Also, why did she shout out both the MCs, but didn't mention D1? Messed up in my opinion.
Yeah, for the most part though they seem to respect the producers. Hopefully she'll be cut off when the mixtape drops lol. There's one mixtape that's not even out yet I don't think we need to be jumping to call it "dub hop"
I'm not so sure about that. I remember with snoop dogg millionaire they labelled it as being produced by wild animals and chase and status. I thought that took the piss a bit, as they're putting wild animals name first - so it appears as if they've been a bigger influence on the track than c & s. It would probably appear that way to the ignorant I believe. But the truth is from what I could hear on the track wild animals have done sweet f.a. - maybe they mixed down the vocals or something minor, but I think it takes the piss for them to be credited as a producer.

Same goes for Eve - Me n My which apparently has been produced by Salaam Remi and Benga. Again from what I hear he's done practically nothing at all but gets credited first, when really neither he nor wild animals really ought to be credited at all.

Was never gonna happen but if they really respected the producers they could label it as something along the lines of Benga ft Eve or Benga & Eve. Though to argue that point would be slightly contrived given that in mainstream music the producer is never credited in the main title no matter how large their input. Think Danja and Britney....

You're spot on about the snoop dogg millionaire shit...I said that for the longest time but everybody just dismissed it and acted as if I was just bitching about the song being shit(which it was).

Crediting people on the track who didn't do anything but possibly re-arrange it to a hip-hop layout and mix together the vocals worse than I would is ridiculous.

I'm liking the murs track but it seems they're trying to hard with this "dubhop" shit like they are the first people to rap over dubstep...

^^ It's a sad thing, as I suppose their is little in the producer's power to do anything about it. The money is so attractive, and they're not gonna have any bargaining power against these kinda guys I suppose. Still, I don't see why they'd want to credit these guys over the producer. Kinda confuses me a little.

In honesty, gotta say that I don't think any of these tunes really work. I guess I don't actually like any of the original dubstep tunes on the tracks bar E-trips so that never helps. There's a lack of creativity and actual quality of delivery. Seems like an idea has been made, but no great deal of thought attached as to how to pull it off. Maybe we'll see more successful collabos if the dubstep producers make beats in mind for an mc - so they can leave out certain frequencies and structure it for an mc in mind. These songs are designed to carry themselves without vocals on top, the vast majority of the time this just won't work - especially with the majority of the tunes being so mid range heavy.

The MC's sound pretty uninspired and lost in all this, as there's not really a lot of groove to flow with. Something like a Loefah or Headhunter which is stripped back and sub heavy could possibly work with an MC. Still I get the feeling that tunes need to be made for the MCs for this to be pulled off with any real success, and you need to get MCs who are really excited about dubstep. Eve sounded flat out bored and confused on that tune, and resultantly so did everyone else listening yknow.

I get the feeling that Joker's style is gonna work really well, as his tunes have got a good Timbaland swagger to them and will roll with an MC on top. Also he's got the talent to pull of a perfect tune for whoever he's working with I'm sure. Gonna be interested to hear the Vex'd beat.

tbh all of these so far have been made with swag mc's

i wouldn't check for any of these tracks if they didn't have dubstep producers attached to them; seems like past it rappers nobody cares about are trying to revitalise their careers by jumping on this. maybe part of the problem is that this was done with west coast artists instead of dirty south.

like that murs on madhouse and the rass kass - STOP RAPPING ABOUT HOW YOU'RE USING A DUBSTEP BEAT. its corny as fuck. just because you found a new type of instro to use doesn't mean you need to spend the whole track talking about how low the bass is or using fucking cringe phrases like "double dose of dubstep".

oh and murs put up a wav of his madhouse vocal (lol @plastician saying uk mc's would leak the tracks before the tape was done):
http://successing.files.wordpress.com/2 ... -house.wav

also is the first line of the chorus in the d1/xzibit track "so what if we rub on your dick"?
