i've not had to upload an avatar in ages so i can't really help but is the source file definitely ok? you've got one of those red cross things as your avatar so looks like the file is either dodgy or the link is unable or something along those lines

5 different web browsers
2 different internet connections
all 3 upload methods used
multiple jpg/jpeg encodings tried
multiple hosting sites (tiypic, flickr,imagehost,photobucket,etc)
all amount and pic sizes met and under-met
I get no error. Just no image in the http on the post.
As I said, I've never had a problem before. Maybe the ops did something to my account?

Are you sure your putting the link in the external url box at the bottom, not the upload avatar on site box at the top?

use a different browser and like link your avatar from imageshack or photobucket.

then when its uploaded just use your standard browser. worked for me

as said, 5 browsers tried already.
ie,mozilla,mozilla firefox,chrome,ephipany, will try more like k-meleon, etc.

Some of them look blurry, others have the edges off them cut off. And the black outlines on them look thicker.
