QFT. My main concern about the legalization of cannabis is being getting stoned about doing nothing at the same level as people who get shit-faced every weekend now.Firky wrote:The most dangerous thing about weed, IMO, is it kills boredom. You no longer get bored so you're quite content to do fuck all, all day long. Being bored is a positive emotion as it motivates you to do stuff and not sit on your arse nodding your head to basslines or Trisha.

Heh jokes of course, but what you said reminded me of his quote. I do agree with you however.Doug Stanhope wrote:All illegal narcotics are medicinal. Boredom is a disease worse than cancer. Drugs cure it, with little or no side effects if used as directed. Life's temporary for a reason, it gets boring after awhile. You should be inventing new drugs is what you should be doing! Newer, crazier drugs... and more holes, that's what you ladies need!

What the bloody hell are you talking about? Please list 10 countries that allow medical cannabis. You see that's the whole point of that diabolical prohibition. Cannabis is medicine, yet it is illegal.NilsFG wrote:They can get it legal though.ov3r wrote:legalize the herb

My best argument for legalizing marijuana is the fact that once legalized, you wont have to deal with drug dealers anymore, hence, not being exposed to harder drugs and not being exposed to dodgy situations.
Just pop down to Tescos, buy an ounce of crazy ass skunk for like 30 quid, rent some films and order pizza. How the fuck is that "bad"?
I am convinced that if marijuana becomes legalized, drug use in general (especially harder drugs) will drop dramatically.

I love this myth. Are you really so naive as to think we have exceeded the efforts of timeless processes in far off lands who strive for the strongest product.jduffy wrote:IMO I think 'skunk' is more bad for your health than a lot of things (mentally) they are unsure now because it is just getting stronger and stonger and they don't have enough reasearch atm to make a decision. In elgand it is less unlikely to be legalized, but in america it is looking up as it is already available in some places and I think others wll follow.collige wrote:I'm undecided. I haven't really figured out whether the increased quality and loss of criminal activity would outweigh the increase in accidents, addictions, etc.
And this is coming from a smoker.
It is not getting stronger just chasing more THC and less CBDs (anti-psychotic properties) that balance the high of the THC. Good hash has plenty of CBDs and still a fair bit of THC and it often seems stronger then buds or the plant matter.
It is not just about strength of the resin glands of the herb, but what constitutes the contents of this resin.
And to those that think crime/car crashes/addiction will increase try looking at the statistics of The netherlands, less addiction and smokers then the UK and not everybody is crazy/dangerous.
Serious misinformation in this thread, although this always seems to be the case with cannabis *sighs*

you should be able to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm others or animals
whats the point of arresting addicts?
you are just paying for their housing, food, etc
i would say that the police should just turn their cheek, but that still leaves the problem of dealers
dealers with guns and competing with other dealers is far more dangerous than some fucktwit having no motivation to do anything all day but getting high while paying taxes to the government
yea thats sooooo terrible a situation i might go out and protest legalization before it even begins.

Not sure about legalization- but def decriminalization...
yes it would be great if it was legal however there would be a lot that would come with that...
One reason it is illegal is due to all of the conservative's holding onto old fashion values... and ignorant people that either have never smoked or are too fucked up in the head already to handle a little herb... also consider the amount of funds spent to fight it being brought into the country in the past...

people talk about legalization like everyone will become a zombie...
when people may be scared out of smoking pot because of the legal penalties the are making a choice based on their "survival", and not necessarily a moral one
ie: ill get caught, go to jail, lose my job, my respect
not all but lots of them. you can tell which ones because they drink and smoke cigarettes like mad
however...
if it was legal not smoking weed would become a moral decision
humanity would be better off for making a conscious choice out of fact instead of being afraid of consequence or people just ingesting whatever they can because its "legal" .
and if we reached that point, then all drug abuse/addiction, including alcohol and tobacco, would be considered low or base behavior
something to think about...not just saying "hey everyone lets get ripped because the gov't tells us to!!!"
tell me that if we made choices based on logic and experience instead of fear we all wouldn't be better off.
right?

i've always found that when i'm high i tend to say very little at allFirky wrote:I'd hate it if weed was made legal. Imagine even more stnuc smoking it and thinking what tehy have to say is really profound or interesting.
i think if it wer made legal or decriminalized it would have to be similar to how the do it in holland coz otherwise the gov't would be to involved and the draw would consequently be shite
anyways i think its time for a fattyboombatty

Every country and state should decriminalize personal drug use, on the same ground that Argentina used:
"Each adult is free to make lifestyle decisions without the intervention of the state,"
Next, every country and state should lift bans on hemp cultivation. Hemp is a)best source of nutrition for human beings; b)best source of fibers, paper or textile; c)only plant that can be used in some 20 000 different industrial products.
Next, all countries & states should make cannabis oil, cannabis cakes or cannabis resins available to all medical patients who request it. So far this has been done in state of California, Belgium and Switzerland.Cannabis has great medicinal potential, that means that all other countries except three mentioned above, are keeping their citizens ill.
Next, all countries and state should stop arresting and molestation of persons using cannabis religiously. Im not talking about rastafarians only here. What about millions of sadhus in India? They get arrested too, for something they have been doing for at leat 5 000 years.
Next, everyone should be allowed to grow cannabis on their property without any taxation or restriction.
And last, but in reality first: all people arrested for cannabis trafficking or cultivation must be set free right NOW!
