So....I'm 95% positive that this is what I'm getting soon. I just want to hear any of your bad experiences with them, for those who use this.

I remember somebody saying they're long lasting.

and for $130 seems a good deal.

After being a jewbag and trying out the cheap alternatives twice in a row i just forked out the extra few quid for one and it works fine first time with Pro tools and reason when rewired. Not had any problems at all. deffo worth the money!

Don't expect too much quality for that price.
I went through 3 of them (V1) and own a V2 now.

It works though, most of the time...

On my PC using Reason I had phantom knob movements, and the transport buttons would sometimes decided there not going to work. Then I always had problems auto mapping the controls.
On my mac it works good but I have to do a master reset every few months because it starts acting up sometimes.

All in all It is an alright controller for the price, but I am never buying m-audio again. It never worked perfect for me and fucks up my workflow reprogramming the knobs and buttons all the time.

I'll add my +1 as well. I bought it about a year ago, and it's really facilitated a renewed interest in producing. Was a really great purchase for me.

I should also add that I am comparing the oxygen8v2 to my padkontrol. The Korg has been perfect and works as it should every time, just wish it had transport controls and I wouldent even plug in the oxy8.

yep, i can make your transports work... gonna dump my patch and upload it

1. Get Enigma

http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=sup ... 8#download

2. Download and extract my patch

http://204.124.181.194/~pavelk/jsilverm ... sports.zip

3. File... Load the XML in Enigma

4. File... Send To Device

5. We're done with Enigma.. Close it

6. Press SELECT on the Oxygen8 v2 three times until you get to program select... press +/- until you get to 1 and don't touch any knobs or buttons until the program number is off the LED

7. Open FL, test if transports work

8. If not, Open Enigma and File... Download from Device. Check Program 1 vs. my picture

the buttons should have MMC command on them

Image

get them like that and you will have transports

another fire oxygen 8 tip:

how to hardlink the 8 knobs to insert 1-8 volume in FL mixer

1. flip multilink to controllers switch on
2. move insert volumes 1-8 up or down in order
3. RIGHT CLICK multilink switch, click override generic links
4. move knobs 1-8 on the oxygen8

now, whenever the mixer has focus, your knobs will be hard linked to the first eight volumes on the mixer in ANY project, even old ones

its the best hardlinking idea ive had yet

more info on hardlinking

http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/htm ... vemidi.htm

read "Generic Hardlinking Procedure"

real way to turn mod wheel on all synths:

1. browse parameters on a synth
2. go to the bottom of the list and find MIDI CC #1 (mod wheel)
3. right click, link to controller
4. click the OMNI switch
5. move the mod wheel on your controller
done

mod wheel will now control mod wheel on any soft synth. from the manual
Correct and thats how I do it these days. This video was recorded before that method existed.

Also some VST will not respond to the method you describe. Most notably one of my favorites, Albino 3. However the MIDI out method works 100% of the time for me when I need it.

play major and minor scales in any key

this is a new one i made up, it just involes setting the root note in the FL channel window

obviously since all white notes = C major when the instrument is tuned to C5, all white notes will be B major when you tune it to C#5 (it moves down as you go up)

same is true for minor notes, you won't be using minor second or tritone because they aren't in the inverals, and you won't be using major sixth unless you're playing the melodic minor

i find that this gives you the 2 full octaves in any key
