MIDI MULTI CLIENT

Post by slinky » Wed Nov 29, 2006 4:56 pm

I`m trying to take midi voices out of XGEdit which came with a Yamaha SW1000XG sound card - and into Cubase SX. The MIDI IN port is being used by cubase. Any ideas how I can get some multi clienting happening here?

can you use asio?

Assign an asio to XGEdit

You got an internal (software) mixer?

Yes I have an ASIO driver and also a software mixer with cubase. I thought that ASIO was about Audio. I cannot get the MIDI sounds contained in xgedit in to cubase. I can hear them ok when auditioning them within xgedit - but cubase doesn`t get them. It looks like a signal routing issue to me and I have tried playing around with the midi port ins and outs but with no success. I used to use a multi client device called hubis loopback but this doesn`t seem to work with my new gear ie cubase sx and windows xp.
