How To Make A Bass Wobble (Method 1 - Long)

Post by geistsoul13 » Mon Sep 14, 2009 12:31 am

hello everyone i'm new to the forums but not to FL Studios. Just finished a tutorial on how to make a bass sample wobble for use in dubstep songs. It is a pretty long way of doing it and there are easier ways out there that I will post shortly. However this way utilizes Free Filter, Env Controller, and Formula Controller which makes the change rate of the cutoff frequency extremely customizable and dynamic.

Anyway here's the video and a download link to the presets and templates I've made.

NOTE: This is not How To Make A Bass Sample: ONLY how to make it wobble or auto-wah. This is only one method (There are TONS), and a long one to learn at best.

Well atleast your not begging for tips on how to make it sound like Rusko and actually went and did a tutorial, but like Depone said it is a bit weak.
There are some really good threads floating about that will help you with this which I'll post links too below.
But personally the best bit of advice in my honest opinion would be to read up on what you struggle with or what your not good at and it does pay off most the time.

Anyway here are some good threads to check out with some stuff that will help you.

http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=45136 (Future Untolds thread of patches and samples)

http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight= (Future Untolds Help me make this sound thread)

Theres ALOT more helpfull threads lying around but I'm a lazy tnuc in truth..

thanks for the feedback guys. as you noticed I wasn't really worried about the actual sample just the process. In the end for the learner that's all that matters. Within the next day though I'll be adding a follow-up video containing some better sounds and such.

I kind of rushed that one into production.

so stay tuned

You guys are all pretty good with fruity loops so i'll just share with you the download that I made in my follow up video to this. has a few presets that might help you out with some dubstep production.
