has happened to me lots but fuck it - thats why music is about isn't it? Being influenced and channelling that via music 'nd if its music whats inspired you you'll pretty much going to do a copy of whats influenced you, subconciously.

All my dubstep attempts sound like a mix of Boxcutter and Kito. o.o Not sure what to think of that. Since I don't even strive to it and I listen to way more dubstep than that.

Svpreme Fiend and I did that once. o.o Perhaps more Flashbulb than Snares, though.

i definitely want to hear that if it's kicking about somewhere!
There's like 40 seconds SOMEWHERE, I don't have it, though. It was a remix I did of a Svpreme Fiend tune. Never finished it because I didn't want to create entirely new melodies from scratch (thought it was kinda disrespectful to the original) but there was only one melody to work with. o.o I did the drums kinda sloppily, but it suited the tune. Kinda like 'Air Nad Adrian' by the Flashbulb I suppose.

I find this quite a lot, especially if i'm listening to one genre more than another for an extended period of time. I don't think there's a problem with it as long as it's just an influence and not just a rip off!

When I started I had this idea of mixing Madlib with Amon Tobin...it turned out into this hip-hop/who knows what? hybrid. I'm not on that anymore I don't think.

my taste in music changes almost daily, but that's what I love about music. Plus it's only natural to eventually change your mind about ANYTHING.

my library of unfinished sounds ranges from classic house to dub to hardstyle.... what can you do

This tends to happen to me a lot, but usually i notice halfway through and then just abandon the tune or try and mix it up a abit to sound less like an influence that was stuck in my head at the time.
Recently though, I've had a lot of original ideas :D

I too find myself being easily influenced...

I will not listen to other peoples music while I am in the middle of working on my own tunes

I NEVER lisen to pop music (sometimes this works against me)

and I try to do everything in my power to stay the hell away from the pub on karaoke night

Ive been listening to a lot of RJD2, STS9, Prefuse 73, stuff like that. Im probably just ignorant, but I feel like those sounds could mix well with dubstep
