Your favorite Ableton tutorials.

Post by jsilver » Wed Sep 16, 2009 7:30 am

We are looking to do an Ableton/NINJAM online synthy dub war, but the clips have to be resampled before the jam because my computer can't handle being a server AND a client AND a DAW. Yes, you may steal this idea from me.

Problem is, I'm an FL user and while I'm familiar with Live I'm not super comfortable with it. I'm still not sure how to get loops from FL into Live and get the signature right so I can mix em. Everything needs to be resampled.

What is your favorite Ableton resource?

Google 'Tom Cosm moving from the studio to playing live in Ableton', see if that helps.

From ableton forum
Alright guys, I put this together earlier today, feel kinda sheepish coz i'm not exactly an ableton expert nor am I a dubstep producer extraordinaire, but hopefully someone can look past how much of a twat I sound in this vid and pick up some tips.

If anyone has any tips or improvements for me, feel free to drop me a PM or reply below, I'm always open to new ideas on ableton as I am relatively new to it all.

Yeah man, operator is a beast of an FM synth, so underrated IMHO. I mean I put that video together in no time at all, had I spent time actually tweaking it I might have got a better sound, but it was respectable I guess :)

most people go straight for the subtractive synths when making basses, but you can make some really grimey inharmonic shit on FM for sure
