Don't know about you but seeing I'm these posters everywhere (even in obscure suburbs) and they scare me a bit (does laughing in the street warrant as antisocial behaviour). But trust me, I am not slagging off people who reside outside of the fine city of Belfast. Your commentary about Boxcutter playing out a couple of times: Yeah, I wrote that article before I knew that and believe me it depressed me that I missed out on those gigs. I'm not really sure which version of the article you read, but on the original forum post of a week back the Diston.org boys made me aware of my mistakes and I corrected them in later posts.
Tell the truth though, Barry Lynn has released an album on Planet Mu, he's been mentioned in the Sunday Times (if you want I can email the article to you, he was highly praised in it), and he hasn't had the exposure here that he should have. I mean, what about top billing on Shine? Makes sense to me.
I totally agree with you there and I hate that. Girls in general get paid far more attention than their male counterparts and they get more gigs too! I think its bad because it makes them believe that they're much better than they are. However that doesn't excuse my natural interest in the opposite sex but I would only consider putting on a girl if her music genuinely connects with me. And hand on heart I can only think of one female artist, that I know, who is amazingly talented and her music shits on the majority of male's music.
