NYC--Skream + Benga @ Trouble & Bass--Le Poisson Rouge, 9.19

Post by *the lady rachel* » Sun Sep 20, 2009 7:13 pm

there are no words to properly describe what went on last night.
t&b crew opened up the night just right! they got the crowd seriously warmed up with a bangin' set. the place was packed and the energy was off the charts.
skream and benga...tagteam set...KILLED IT! everything from dubstep, refixes, to bits of early uk hardcore sound to jungle. i have never danced as much and as hard as i did for 4 hours straight. my everything hurts today and i've actually lost my voice from screaming so much!
the system handled the sound, the space was just right and there was perfect amounts of bassmosh.
trouble and bass craw never disappoints!
it was the perfect dubstep weekend...
thank you!

last night was fucking awesome, it was my first time ever going to a dubstep party and I had the time of my life. I think I woke up this morning with whip lash - my neck is killing me!

It was a fantastic show. I had a great time. For as much fun and the crowd was having, it looked like Skream and Benga were having even more.

yeah.. it was all pretty fucking overwhelming. there were some dancers up front that had no regard for anyone and were pissing a lot of people off. but other than that everyone was groovin hard and there was some serious sickness from s & b. thought that the pon di floor remix dropped by t&B was a big highlight. highlights of s&b probably being burnin' up and the bats for lashes remix. some fuckin gorgeous tunes, i feel blessed. i nearly cried when they said they were out of vinyl but that last new skream joint lit it up. big big big big stuff, lots of fun, fun to watch the selectas. ups to all who raged as hard as i did.

fuck that club is all i have to say...

we were at a wedding and by 11pm, figured we were only an hour, instead of 3, hours away from NYC. For some reason we thought it was in Brooklyn and got caught in almost 2 full hours of total stand still traffic in the middle of the city to cross a stupid bridge....we get to 158 bleecker and its a house in a bad neighborhood, find out its in manhattan and drive there-at this pt its like 330am...we find parking, go to the doors and heard some ppl were walking in and out of the place multiple times all night w out even being stamped....so we tried-and they stopped us right away. they wouldnt even listen to our story-which was how badly we just wanting to dance! I saw about 50 people at one pt just filing out of that place, but they couldnt let 3 people in!? fuck them.

we ended up buyin big beers at a deli down the street and getting our fun on regardless with music bumpin in the car...but seriously-we would have paid the huge ridiculous 18 dollar cover even at 4am! to see the last few mins of the night....but i guess that just doesnt happen....

heard trouble and bass had a lame set though....the signs of "rewind" or something? kind of odd....what was up with that>
big up the donut crew!

LPR handled the crowd very well imo. they were organized and got ish moving without problems for a packed house and sold out show. i heard a lot of sob stories from people wanting to get in and door guys we're having it...it's just how it is. t&b crew killed it. brought the energy levels up and had everyone jumpin by the time skream and benga came on.
not sure how a party can be properly reviewed without actually being attended.
just sayin...

just sayin, i didnt review the party.....i was simply bitching that after the longest journey there...for 3 ppl to offer to pay the ridiculously expensive cover at 4am when the party ended shortly after is a nice thing-esp when most ppl were leaving or outside smoking....
i dont care who did what or what was good/bad....all we wanted to do was go in and dance....its all about the love for the music, not door douches. we even had flowers to give T&B!

t&b dj's def did not have a wack set. couple hundred people screaming and yelling and clapping and moshing their heads off i think deserves a rewind, there was a bunch of rewinds but the tunes were heavy. the signs were just jokes , nothing different than the Joe Nice "5 for the rewind" signs ive seen plenty of times. if anything i thought the WOBBLE sign was a bit redundant, but did i stop dancing? no
