Elektrotribe proudly presents the debut album of Error Response.
“Zen”, the debut Error Response album mixes mysterious film score with downtempo, trip hop grooves, into a masterpiece of sample based electronica. Lifetime producer, Stephen Arnold (AKA Espion - Bass4Bots Records), gave birth to the Error Response project after many years of producing various styles of electronica, and dividing his work into two categories - from industrial and agressive electro as Espion, to downtempo, trip hop as Error Response. As time went on, the music seemed to take on a path of its own, evoking thoughts of a dark, melancholic, moody and claustrophobic Bladerunner-esque, urban environment. The cover art by SHTL conveys this perfectly, in his amazing CG art piece 'Sanctus2K9'.

The album is the first of three parts entitled Zen, Tao and Chi, which have been in production since 2005. The music fuses sampled loops and phrases with complex interweaving programmed rhythms and synthesized melodies, with an organic flow, dropping into ambient sections, or into more fast drum'n'bass sections, while always sticking to the theme of a mysterious, urban samurai, film noir soundtrack, filled with curiosity, intrigue, thrills, car chases, plot twists, gangsters, cops and femmes fatales.

Released on 18th September 2009, CD and Digital.

First review from Italian Technodisco.it::

"Elektrotribe took three years to go back to invest on a sector different from Minimal Techno. This happens thanks to the music of Stephen Arnold, already known in the Electro world as Espion, bravely undertaking a path already swarming with alternative styles such as Hip Hop, Dubstep, Jungle, Abstract, Downtempo, Trip-Hop, Drum n Bass and film music. The author manufactured no less than 18 tracks freefrom any stylistic bond and influenced by the sound of Aphex Twin, DJ Krush, Nightmares on Wax, Squarepusher, Plaid, Photek, Autechre and other great names of the most conceptual of IDM. Amongst the best, in a very rich sequence, are “Rules of Engagement”, “The Clones”, “Creep 31”, “Shadows” and “Real Props” featuring The Protegé. A project that could (and maybe should) open a new course for the French-German label founded by Romain Favre and Jeremy Govciyan." - Giosuè Impellizzeri, www.technodisco.it

WOW WOW WOW!!!

Finally, one of Scotland’s finest electronic music producers has released his debut album! I say album, but for £9 (I bought mine as a download via Beatport) you get a phenomenal 18 tracks of deliciously deep and superbly produced …music reminiscent of Leftfield, Massive Attack, Photek, Autechre and Mad Professor made entirely in Scotland from girders!

Just bought it, hence the excitement. But I MUST recommend this to any friends who like forward thinking new music. You will be proud to call this your own. Support your local escapologist. GET THIS!!!

Error Response – Zen (EKT000035)

Truly astounding album! Like falling into a K-Hole whilst simultaneously having stroboscopic images of Manga classics burnt onto my retina, sitting in a chair at a Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra rendition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream…

English translation

After producing electro music for several years, Stephen Arnold founded the project ERROR RESPONSE. Now the Berlin label Elektrotribe releases his debut "Zen".

"Zen" contains 18 tracks, in which ERROR RESPONSE labours through the different styles of sample based Electronica: twitching D’n’B and dubby beats, score-like ambient, triphop and downbeat. Heavy strings induce a dramatic atmosphere, overall the sound is quite dark.

:: housefloor Fazit ::
ERROR RESPONSE shows with "Zen": he really knows about electronic auditory-music / aural-music. He brings on 18 fresh tracks of sophisticated and versatile Electronica. - Alex, Housefloor.de

.:: housefloor Fazit ::.
Error Response zeigt mit „Zen“, dass er wirklich Ahnung von elektronischer Hör-Musik hat. Er liefert frische 18 Tracks mit gut gemachtem und vielseitigem Electronica-Sound. - Alex, Housefloor.de
