it wasnt that bad, i got the feeling there were a couple of strangely put complements towards dubstep in there.

however, was obviously written by someone who hadnt done very much research. to say something like, "But for a style like dubstep to penetrate here, far from its home, it needs intermediaries."

dubstep penetrated the US (ahem) quite some time ago

I was expecting a train crash - wasn't that bad!

Tbf all the guy probably has to go on is this one gig and a handful of blog articles.

Plus Skream really can be a bit heavy handed with the rewinds =P

I have read far worse to be fair. It reads to me like your typical middle of the road broadsheet paper, not so much sneering as elitism and faux piety. The verbose is what makes it cringe-worthy, it's not very well written at all.

The most evocative one was simple: “Wobble Wobble.”

It's just poorly written. I think what he was trying to say was "This isn't the most complex dance music ever but I quite enjoyed it nonetheless".

It's strange that he references Joker's melodic tendancies and Benga's softer approach whilst describing "Dubstep" in seriously broad strokes. It's as good as anyone reading the New York Times for their music opinion needs it to be.

to be fair to this guy, who obviously doesn't know too much about this music, there were a retarded amount of rewinds imo. I love a good rewind on a hyped track just as much as the next guy, but it seemed like the last half hour or twenty minutes of their set never really got a groove going due to all the reloads. But.....I thought the set all in all was fucking sick. and yeah, this article wasn't that bad, just seems like this guy isn't very aware of whats going on around him in terms the dubstep scene.
