ive also got a problem

Post by thrush » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:38 am

ive also got a problem, i made a topic on here just before about sub-genres, then i came back on, selected the topic, and it said the topic was unavailable. i refreshed the forum and the topic was gone from the list. is this a freak mistake or is it censorship by dsf of some kind? (the topic in question involved my interpretation of the scene as it stands at the moment and how we have sub-consciously created sub-genres of the sound and we haven't realised it. i understand it could be detrimental to the scenes confidence and the forum may not want that)

My problem is people make unnecessary posts which have already been made 100 times, then complain when it goes missing. On top of that they then believe that people or trying to Censor them because the internet police don't like people analyzing things in a public place. what should i do?

You didn't at all. All you did was split up different producers into different sounds.

You can play every one of those producers into 1 set and still cal it Dubstep.

What your basically saying is everyone should sound the same so we can call it Dubstep...

its definitely an interchangeable genre. you've even tried to avoid the fact that the sub-genres are there, and they do exist which was kind of the point i was trying to make.

edit:

the site is obviously still undergoing maintenance. a lot of the time the forum can even be rewinded 24 hours and everyone's posts that day be deleted.

ur post kud be locked which in a way is censorship but it CAN'T be deleted, unless by mistake wen the forum is undergoing maintenance in which case it's not censorship because no-one's done it on purpose.

haha no bot. but i was just saying how i think we avoid sub genres so harshly (this thread highlights that i think) and how we use terms to describe sounds like filth for the datsik and borgore sounds, purple for the joker and kito sort of sound.

Avoid ?
You cant avoid certain bits and pieces, more about being descriptive imo.

Well your saying Dubstep is split into sub-genres because of the different producers making different sounds, so what your really wanting is for every dubstep producer to use the same patterns & sounds in their bass, drums and synths so that it's all the same and no there is no way anyone can split it up?

well in the original topic, i did mention that i hate it as much as you guys. i despise the fact that the sub-genre's are becoming really prominent but there is no point in hiding the fact that they do exist. i think not having any sub-genres is part of what makes dubstep so dynamic and interesting. but they are actually there beneath our noses.

edit: i guess it was covered alot better in the original topic than this disjointed pile of shit of a thread

i just meant it as a loose way to describe that it may be perceived as a negative thing.

edit: this is exactly what i mean from the guy above me. these forums are always moaning about dubstep being ruined.
