The long awaited follow up to BD1982's debut EP, Bigfoot, is finally here. And we ain't pulling any punches with this one.
For the lead track BD1982 teamed up with one of Brooklyn's top dancehall MC's, 77 Klash, to create "Shotta Pon De Corner." 77 Klash has been featured on releases by Turbulence, Jah Dan, Shadetek, as well as his own Klash City imprint and an upcoming EP on Trouble & Bass. The riddim for this track many people will remember as originally coming from BD1982's wildly popular bootleg remix of the Cataracs & Pack's "Blueberry Afghani," which received big ups in Kid Kameleon's XLR8R Magazine column as well as countless blogs. "Space Boots" is deep and moody instrumental hip hop track with vocal cuts 'I lace up my space boots instead of fly green chucks.' We enlisted an army of sick remix talent to put their flavor into this. The UK's Slugabed (Ramp Recordings) turns out a massive hypercolour style remix. Montreal's Hovatron brings his unique Turbo Crunk spin on things. Starkey drops some thick drums and melodic shoe gaze vibes. London's Tayo comes deep with a bumpin' dance floor track. Some disco house sounds slide through from the NYC/Philly duo Philadelphyinz. Turnin' Tricks (Dev79 & Darrel Asbury) deliver some electro thump with their rendition. And rounding out the release is NY's Dore (Code of Arms) with a heavy dubstep take.
