Greetings all,

Producer/musician in exile from Bristol, currently out in the sticks of sunny southwest uk. My faith in garage/dubstep has recently been re-ignited after hearing Darkstar's Need You, which has lead me to discover that there's all kinds of other good stuff going on. This place seems like a bit of a hub/hive of info and activity, so I thought I'd get stuck in.

Expect some dubs of new Bzode (and friends!) material in the near future. Big ups to any who remember us from our shambolic laptop shows and general drunken, scruffy presence in bristol and round about a couple of years ago.

Brap etc
tom

Hey, im Josh,
flirted with dubstep about 2 years back, but it was only really when I moved to Sheffield that I really got a full taste of what was going on. Caught magnetic man at TTC and had one of the best nights I can remember. Big fan of lots of electronic music, aphex, flylo, squarepusher, boards of canada etc. Always open minded. Currently liking alot of martyn, joker, untold. Got introduced to DSF by a mate a while back and thought id join up. Seems like a safe place. :D Started messing with flstudio a while back, but still learning the basics really.

Cheers, Josh.

Oi oi,

I've been into dubstep for about a year and have been kinda lurking the boards every now and then, figured it was time I signed up.

What up?

hi all!! this intro is a bit overdue...but WTH, I lag.

I'm Kial, a long time bass head since I was in elementary school in South Florida. Been DJ'ing / producing DnB for over a decade when the dubstep bug bit me in fall of 2006. Now, I can't let go. I love the space between the drums that gives way to huge bass timbres. I like sound design, and making patches for hours before I even try to make a tune....I'm a freakin tweaker. playing with circuits a little bit is fun too, but I'm novice. Was playing out in SoCal a lot, but recently moved to the Bay Area and stuck my head in the studio for a year. Got a few bits out now...The Subversive EP on TzR Carbon, a tune called "Quantum Flux" on Foul Play, and a forthcoming single on Rogue Dubs due this November.

Just started my third label, and first dubstep label, Sub Pressure Recordings. Sub Pressure Volume 1, our debut release, will be back from the Mastering Engineer this week and its sounding really good now. :D Stoked to have some great musicians on the label; Biome, Drifta, Genr8, Kelly D, Malstrom, Tapir, and myself, Kial. This release will be available in all major online conduits next month. Check it!

Much love for the Dubstep Massive!!!

I've been around dubstepforum for a while just checking things out...but now I've officially made the jump to post.

What's up guys? :)

Yo, I'm Ryan. Northerner who lives down in Margate on the South East coast. There seems to be quite a little community growing down here. I dj myself, and have a few mates who produce and dj too. Hopefully going to start putting a night on soon when we find a venue and that. Peace and beats.

New to genre and site

Post by xpc3u » Sat Sep 26, 2009 11:59 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm a very beginner to this whole genre. About two - three weeks ago I was introduced to dubstep (before it was mainly general electronica I listened to). I've already started experimenting in FL Studio; just messing around and having fun (I'll upload one that I did today inna bit). I mainly came on this site for feedback/critiques and to learn more about the genre and big artists and those just coming up also. I'm located in the MidWest of America so it feels like I'm cut off from the main grouping of 'dubsteppers.'

Anyhoo, I figured I should actually introduce myself and get my bum in gear, so to speak.

Peace!

Whats up all, I just started getting in to producing dubstep within the last month. I used to play bass in a live progtronica band until my drummer had an unfortunate run-in with an incredibly aggressive tree squirrel... sadly, he'll never be the same again... As for me, I have found my calling in the church of womp. I work mainly with Ableton 8 suite and Reason 4. I have already learned so much from this forum I felt it was necessary to give a formal introduction and to thank everyone who posts on here. So THANK YOU!! I hope to one day return the favor to the next generation of steppin kidz.

Just got into Dubstep a few months ago, now I'm full force into it. It has fresh beats and the grime to make you crawl to your knees. Love that shit. VA Dub Crew Rep.

Hey all!,
I'm Mr Strong, Have just got into mixing and have been mixing dubstep like a religion for the past 2 months! Guess you could say im abit of a bass junkie! Really just trying to find the sickest tunes to throw in together! Really love garage since i was a kid, althought im still a teenager!?! Bassline, DnB, Dancehall, hip-hop, pretty wide spread i guess. But really love the deep dark side of the club tunes. :)

Hello everyone!

I am a Dubstep, Electro/House and "Oldschool" Hiphop producer from Wetteren, Belgium.
I'm 16 and I have been dj'ing for about 2years and producing for 1year and half.
I started out doing "tekstyle" ( Music-style from Belgium and France. A kind of Hardhouse )
After that I did Electro until I discovered dubstep!
I discovered it while I was at a mate's house. He played this weird, Bass-heavy music that I never heard before.
The first few times I heard it I really hated it but after a while dubstep becomes so addictive and now I am totally hooked!
that's my story!

oh btw if you're interested visit my myspace: http://www.myspace.com/djhottok

Peace Out!

Konnichiwa - well actually more like G'Day as I'm another Aussie landed in London. Here studying video production for a year. Study also ninjutsu and iaijutsu back home and looking for dojos here to keep up the practice.

I like long walks on the beach, killing pirates and getting caught in the rain ...

Already enjoying the chance to see every dubstep artist I could want in a weekend and hoping to meet some likeminded folk along the way.

New Producer

Post by MaxG » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:50 am

Hello all,

Thought i'd introduce myself.

I'm traditionally a Drum & Bass DJ (15 years) and have been producing for about 5.
Just stepped onto the Dubstep scene, there's some real variety out there - nice to see it's not just one style :)

Been listening to alot of Excision and Datsik, like their stuff, although it's quite raw.

Just started producing some Dubstep myself with Ableton. I'll be posting some tracks soon for you all to hear.

If you can't wait have a look at my Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/maxg

PEACE,

Max
