just because something is outside-the-box or "forward thinking" doesn't make it good. just because it's not 2007 anymore doesn't mean people shouldn't be making good music anymore. music needs to be inspired from the past, made in the present point of view, and have a future destination in mind. if a tune is missing any of those, it doesn't stand the test of time and is typically easily forgotten. rusko's recent material seems to reflect that. wtf was get your cock out? that's a disgrace to the d1 tune on the flip

Artists have the right to make whatever music they want. They're not here to make music YOU like. Nobody gives a fuck about YOU. YOU make the music YOU want.

They're here to make music THEY want to. If somebody suddenly decides they want to make something that might piss off the 'core' fanbase, good for them.

I'm not Rusko's biggest fan, but good luck to him. Let him explore and enjoy the sunshine, you bunch of self-entitled, whiny fucking little cocks.

today, i see 2 major reasons for making music

1) to express yourself, express creativity, establish originality
2) to make money

all i'm sayin is a lot of the artists who get bashed on here are making an awful lot of money. make up your own minds

but it's a lot easier to take someone seriously who is doing it for the first reason rather than the second.

and if someone was truly making music for themselves, why would they promote it, play it out, release it for public consumption, etc...

da cali anthem is truely awful.... he's just being "cool" and i, for one, ain't feeling it.

Fair enough do what you want.... but it's electro.... not dubstep.... people need to remove that label and then i won't be so pissed off.

There are easier/better ways of making money in music outside of Dubstep. Dubstep is so small, it's probably the last place I'd try it. I guess it depends on what you'd class as an 'awful lot of money', of course.
Just saying...

Maybe people are more open minded to what Dubstep is in the States?
Maybe the little sceney, geezy thing isn't doing it for some people any more?
Another fading electronic music fad, and all that.

His old stuff is great. What he started making in 2008 was not good, simply not good and easily forgettable. Now he simply is making shit music for fluo kids and douchebags, certainly not pushing any sound forward.

I'll never hate on Rusko, he made great music once and seems like a good guy who just want to entertain, but i hate his sound and i hate the type of guys whose his music made for = the "oh it got bass and a rhythm plus it's fun, who gives a fuck if it's not good i'm drunk and i wear a t-shirt whit a stupid message on it" gang

Meh.... i publish this, then i never ever answer again on a topic on Rusko

ok , 'just because it's not 2007 anymore doesn't mean people shouldn't be making good music anymore' , what?????

and why does music need to be inspired from the past? It cant help but be inspired from the past, it cant help but be made in the present point of view, and will always unconsciously have a future destination in mind, or how would Rusko be were he is now?

so what if it doesn't stand the test of time it still exists!!!! Rusko's putting his music out on Mad Decent man, thats awesome! It's totally the right scene for him, are you part of that scene?

it just seems like rusko is only making music for the NOW. to be rinsed in jumpup sets for a few months, then tossed aside for another "new sound" he's going for. no doubt he's made some great tunes, but lately i haven't heard anything i've agreed with.

mad decent has no authority on dubstep, and hasn't released anything good (to me) in quite a while

Isnt that dance music? 1000's of other producers make jump-up music for the dancefloor. Why not make a list of them all and hate on them? When I go out to a rave or club i want to have some drinks and dance my ass off to some bangers. Thats what dance music is all about making people dance.
