i still use trackers on c64. some guys even write in straight assembly (fucking nuts) on c64. it seems to have it's advantages on c64, but i cant get out that "fast creative expression" on a tracker. when something hits me I need to let it out quick or i lose it.

traditionally trackers were used to control external synths, racks, and sample softs,sidchip, and mods. Trackers have been around since the early 80's. I was using the Rob Hubbard routine/player in 1986. only recently can trackers "host" vst/vsti.
