yeah since I've never been to a dubstep night, I have no clue what the "rewind experience" is like. But I do know that hearing a song for a very short period of time is fuckin SICK.

I think it's good that a huge paper like the NYT is covering dubstep. It's just a shame they couldn't find a more talented or better informed writer to do it.

The LA times article on LET, much like MAH's dubstep warz, both catch onto something that's missing from the NYT article: that there's a flashpoint of creativity happening. It's definitely going down in NYC right now, and has been for a few years. maybe that's it? Dubstep @ a rave like T&B might be new sounds for the writer, but it definitely seems established. there's nothing fledgling, on-the-edge about Skream & Benga throwing down for a room full of fans, more like ... holy shit, there's this fully-established scene going on completely outside of my life. Let's check out the ecology of it. ie, rewinds, wobblez, etc.
