does Garage belong here really?

Post by Littlefoot » Fri Oct 09, 2009 6:45 pm

The mods always said they would never make a separate Garage forum, because they didn't want to separate Garage from Dubstep, but it seems lots of old UKG stuff gets discussed here/dropped in "house" mixes here.. is it time to start a separate UKG forum.. or maybe just keep the UKG posting in the main forum?

Blatenly this.

Pretty much i would set my sets, including all the funky/dubstep and whatever i play, have mainly got a garage thing going on.

This Part of the forum, is basically for people who are on that different flex at the minute, not strictly funky i reckon.

I get that a lot of stuff that's referred to as "Funky" is just "Funky House" or simply "House." But some of the stuff that's refered to as "Funky" is such a departure from House that it doesn't really sound like House to me anymore. People like Lil Silva, Cooly G, and Roska.

Anyone who reffers to 'Funky' as 'Funky house' is wrong, i understand what you're saying about the other people in honesty lil silva just sounds like garage.
when you say 'it doesnt sound like house to you' there are many, many forms of the music that dont sound like your traditional bread and butter frankie knuckles 4/4. :D

it's even harder when garage doesn't sound like garage

can you honestly say Heartless Crew sounds like CJ Bolland - Sugar is sweeter sound likes Jammin sounds like Todd Edwards sounds like DND?
