Ring Modulators

Post by drokkr » Mon Oct 12, 2009 4:55 pm

Ello

I am looking for some suggestions for ring modulators(freeware?), I've been reading about them and since I read that they are one of the main things the voice of Daleks I got to thinking about what one would do to some of the more mid range frequencies in a track - toms, synths etc.

Any ideas folks? I am hoping that some one uses a particular one and are happy with and could point me in the right direction...

Thanks

Renoise has a built in ringmod. It's really nice for making hard metallic crunchy snares.

You could always try Mring Modulator from futures 'portable freeware studio'. Haven't really used it tho, so can't really comment on its performance.

I've played with it, and it's given me at least one headache.

What exactly do you want to ring modulate?

Most synths and samplers have this ability built in.

Mringmodulator is dope cuz of its features. Custom automatable modulation shapes, not just sine waves!

The GUI may well give some people a headache, but ring modulation as an effect gives me more of a headache (think midrange plop and all that biznuzz)...

The freeware ring mod contained in the last version of the protable freeware pack was Novaflash RSP10 ring modulator.

This link may help you... ---> http://www.audiomastermind.com/browse-r ... 004-1.html

Maybe also search the KVR plugins database and gersic.com/plugins for ringmodulators?

Peace :)

Don't get me wrong, the VST is great, I just utterly suck at using it. :P
