Sampling middle c wobble riffs????

Post by promo » Thu Oct 15, 2009 12:16 pm

Yo just sampled a whole bunch of middle c wobble riffs last night with different clock rates etc but then after that I realised that if I play some notes in say Kontact then other than middle c the rest are gonna go out of sync if ya get me. Any thoughts on how to keep them in sync within a tune in whatever daw.

sample them without the wobble, or maybe try the time machine in kontakt, but i don't know how well that would work.

You're better off rendering down the raw oscillators from whatever synth your using (i.e. no filter) then stick it in kontakt and use the filters in there esp. that pro-53 one and some satuartion pre-filter maybe some of that phaser too or a notch filter to make some different variations of the sound before the filter.

map a straight-8th one across the keyboard. add tons of distortion. have it so that it wobbles on 8ths at middle c, 16ths at c5, and triplets at g. write arpeggiating riff. change name to bad company uk. refer to yourself as )EIB( . write shot down on safari. abandon your mates for solo career. do great.

Probably the only way I can think of doing this would be to sample a whole octave in the bass range.

This is what i do. To make things simpler i bounce an octave worth of notes to one file, then use recycle to split them up quickly, and then wach them in the sampler from the .rx2 file. Presto, a quick multisample.

Well all I can say is it works. I've done a shit load of sample riffs and doing different notes is no problem in Ableton. So here's my present to all of you. Will be making some more crazy one note riffage tonight. All I need do is upgrade to Abelton 7 and I'll really be rockin' and rollin'.

decoder and substance left dnb to join/produce for kosheen, not part of dnb
inside the machine was all 4 members of bad company depending on the track, but primarily fresh and d bridge, maldini and vegas had some play in some of the quality tunes too
