over use of gating in tunes. makes me think its caused by laziness and lack of ideas.

i love vaski but he overdid it in the tune 'get down'. ruined it for me imo.

Purple Love- Silkie & Mizz Beats has this weird mettalic sound in the background, doesnt keep with the idea of the song. :x

It's like if Wall-e came to an open mic MC night and is spitting over the drops. Some of the melody to it is alright but its just so jarring and... shit. Which is a real shame because that song is one of my favourites bar that.

That song would be shit without the vocoder.

I agree with danrev. Song could've been 10 times better with clean vocals

ohh no wrong tune lol, i meant Headbutt the Deck actually, in the background there is this quiet noise that sounds very mettalic, just wrong.

The snare in Distance - No Sunshine. I wouldn't say I hate it but it seems like it is from a completely different tune.

I like this thread a lot but I don't know what the different bits are called or else I'd give my examples, sorry.

In Hyph Mngo - Joy Orbison, i think the vocal sample is too repetitive, i like it, but if it was used a tiny bit less, i would've bought the tune, just gets annoying though.
Also i don't like the samples in Data's tunes, they seem to want to come across deep and meaningful but just get annoying (for want of a better word), and feel a bit pretentious (again i can't think of a better word), to me anyway.
Also any dark dnb tune with a pointless quote in it, taken from a horror movie or whatever, for example Limewax - Everything, a load of SPL tunes etc, fucking annoying after the 2nd or 3rd listen. I like some though, the sample in Angels - Vex'd i really like.

Just listened to that, fucking annoying isn't it. Sounds like it wasn't meant to be there, and you can just hear someone hitting a snare in the room next door.

Anyone with me on the Purple City thing? The whole tune is wicked, but there's something wrong in that second riff.
