What reverb do you like to use?
I've been struggling with the reverb on my snares.
I want an airy type sound with a fairly long tail, (the usual type in dubstep)
I end up most of the time with a mushy sound that is either under or overdoing it.
I've tried highpassing the reverb, I've tried using sends (which is what I usually use for my reverbs)
I'm just wondering how others do this, any tips for me?

Re: What reverb do you like to use?
heres a tip for "realistic" reverb
put a gate on the send that your snare or whatever is bussed to
and after the gate put a reverb at 100 percent small room
this way the snare wont be reverberated till it hits a certain volume like in real life. great if you want to do ghost snares with out getting muddy, but then come back with a big smack on the 3
its great for hihats too
im not sure, but if you can invert the gate range, you can set multiple different reverbs for different velocities, so you wont get 2 seconds unless your really smack it, but until then its at like 500ms or so

was big on waves trueverb and rverb for awhile. but the first two are really sick.
but I would buy redline and use that solely.

Re: What reverb do you like to use?
There's many, many good ones and just recently there's been an influx of plug-ins who've all flexing a quality that has never before been seen in algorithmic software!
Redline Reverb is probably going to be a smash, it's fantastic. As far as algorithmic stuff goes I just use whatever fits, but when it comes to actually shaping sounds I like to use Impulse Responses. I've been using the Uhbik-A reverb ever since I got the Uhbik Suite and that definently does the job for me right now when it comes to obvious reverbs. The Classik bundle from IK is great too...hell... most reverbs do the job, to be honest!
