Re: brostep
I don't actually have a problem with any genre particularly.....i like ultra aggressive skullstep when done well....from what i've heard of borgores mental tunes they're nowhere near as powerful and dark and metallic as broken note or lone wolf...
how come these guys didn't have an 'overwhelming request for their presence' in the states?
maybe when it's truly dark that audience can't actually handle it and instead enjoy the comical aggressive music so prevalent in d&b already

I don't know if harder, darker tunes are being made by people purely to "make a name for themselves" or such things, but as long as people are enjoying what they're making then that's all good with me : )
Listen to what you want to, make what you want to, and also the opposite - Don't listen to what you don't want to and don't make what you don't want to

the whole loudness war is a joke. it takes emphasis from music and turns it into something completely different. luckily my stanton sa-5 has a volume knob so I'm prepared.

Re: brostep
just saw borgore live and it was ehhh.good rapping good sounds but seriously metal drums in a dub show. i like some filthy shit but i go to a dubstep show for some dubstep with some nice dub drums not straight up metal witch they actually played straight metal. not saying metal is bad but play some dub at ur dubstep show.
he also was wearing a borgore ruined dubstep shirt witch i thought was hilarious.
guided relaxation was pretty good there but i was pretty if-y on the rest

Re: brostep
Yea but you can't go to Pantera and expect to get Beatles classics all night. Pantera would play metal because that is what they play. Welcome to the site btw... if you like more chill stuff, hit up our selection on Surface Tension.
Re: brostep
Lol, I might have to send my mates to a borgore gig & tell them it's a house night or something & he plays soulful/deep house & minimal & to make sure they are at the front row when he starts

i hate to make a wipe thread complaining about this but it has been gnawing at my innards:
has anyone noticed how aggressive and testosterone fueled tunes have been getting made? dun get me wrong, i am able to enjoy a rough and rugged tune that meks me twist up into a screw face, but i fear this trend is taking us on the route that dnb went some years ago. the whole who can sound the hardest pissing contest (i.e. who can drive girls off the dancefloor the fastest) caused many to jump ship from dnb and breaks.
i'm not saying it has to be all deep and mellow, but the shredded midrange, reminiscent of tearout breakbeats, doesn't sit well with me.
i understand that styles evolve, but i think we need to take caution. i'm not going to name names, but some tunes just turn the dancefloor into backwards baseball cap brofest. i'd hate to have another style of music that i enjoy playing and dancing to get morphed into an unpalatable mush of midrange madness.
thoughts?
ps
F U IF YOU DISAGREE.

As one of the early dubstep listeners I can attest to the fact I dont care what it sounds like. Dubstep is dubstep and subgenres just means people from different backgrounds have fallen in love with the sound and have added a part of themselves in it. Instead of hating, let the metal kids have their gorestep, and noobz their brostep. Purists could very well be made fun of for things I wont mention, its just such an idiot pissn' contest. I wish there were at least half of the amount of threads written about ignant ish being written to give producers props, sharing knowledge and the likes.
Come on, y'all can do better than this.

Re: brostep

Re: brostep
Bros really know what they're doing. I think they've pretty much figured out this whole life thing
They say that ignorance is bliss, and bros are the most ignorant motherfuckers out there. They really know what the fuck is up. They go through life blissfully unaware and being superficially happy, but they're so fucking dumb that it doesn't matter one way or another. Who are we to judge the extent of their moral fiber? Whether their life is a vapid hole of unfulfilled sex, drugs, and alcohol?
Do we not live through life trying to avoid pain? Do we not often give into our own carnal desires? Are we not born into a society where our individuality and self-worth is constantly judged and tarnished to the point that we all share similar habits and predispositions to certain ideas, beliefs, and rules?
We are not special. We are all shit. Happiness lies on quick and mindless self-gratification. We will never become fulfilled people because there are boundaries that we cannot ever break.
Let's go through life everyday high as fuck and putting our dicks into every single thing that moves.
I'm being slightly sarcastic, obviously, but kind of not at the same time. Either way,
Who are we to judge a bro? Should we not become a bro ourselves first? To experience what life has to offer through the eyes of a bro?
Who is with me?
Real talk
