Making Your Own Sample Packs
Anyone ever done this? I've been thinking of doing this for a while. just including some drum one shots, some prec loops, some lead multi's and some bass multi's (or maybe include the patches for the VST's).
I dont think i could justify charging for it so would give it away.
thoughts?

Nah, what does it include? Cos you have said that it would include some one shots...Where would they come from? You gonna record them or just pick them up and add then to your refill!??
Re: Making Your Own Sample Packs
making money off it would be hard for sure unless you have something really solid, in depth or original. however I'm sure you'd get downloads if you put some stuff together. Most producers have a sort of ongoing sample pack of their own original bits to use.
Re: Making Your Own Sample Packs
indeed it would be hard to sell on unless you are a relativley well known producer. If its a collection of sounds and what not I tink peeps are always up for a bit some free sounds.
i beleive if you are not well known and want to sell samples. they would need to have special qualities. like being recorded through expensive converters and high end gear, like what goldbaby do with with their sounds.

Re: Making Your Own Sample Packs
well the drums would be the drums ive "made". i tend to take 3/4 kicks/snares/hats that ive picked up and layer them then EQ, filter, compress, distort etc and then export them as as oneshot keep them in a folder. i often do this when im bored but have got no inspiration to make a track.
and the bass/lead multi's would be the same but just a C note played for 10seconds or so and then exported as a wav.
i might do this over the weekend/week, zip it up and chuck it up here for a "review".
i wouldnt plan on selling though, as mentioned above, im not well known and dont posses the eqipment to really make it a "product".
