There was a HUGE thread along similar lines not so long ago. This may answer some of your questions, or maybe it wont. Think it was called summit like "Dubstep is grime made properly".....just search for the thread, becuase I cant remember how far back it went. I just think this whole thing got a bit tiresome. Dont take it personally
In my humble opinion there is a massive difference, and you dont need to be a music mastermind to hear that. I love dubstep, i really like grime, I see them as two seperate entities that have the ability to co-exist along side one another....but anyways, follow those links that Jackquinox posted...you'll soon see/hear/whatever.
