Post by jonny_dub » Thu Oct 29, 2009 3:33 am

Just wondering what peoples thoughts were about the back room (the hoya:hoya room) at the thrasher event at the Warehouse project.

The Line up was :

Nosaj Thing
Dam Funk
Mary Anne Hobbs
Rustie
Daedelus
Gaslamp Killer
Illum Sphere
Jonny Dub

plus there are some video links here, but the sound is pretty shocking :P sorry!

Nosaj Thing and Gaslamp Killer just destroyed this room. Here's a much higher quality video of GLK's set -

Yeah was in this room most the night. Nosaj thing was immense, saw him in glasgow on thursday too. GLK was okay, ive seen him a few times now in glasgow/sonar and he tends to play the same set so i got a bit bored.

Dam funk was cool for a different vibe, although WHP crowd maybe wanted something heavier and not so musical. Daedelus was the biggest dissapointment for me, ive seen him numerous times and he was awsome. Its a shame he didnt play a live set of his own stuff. I think he pandered to the crowd too much playing dubstep and heavy tunes, didnt really see his own vibe. Loved his remix of a james blake tune. Rustie was cool as well. soundsystem spot on, although queuing to get in the room was wack. Im not usually a fan of the big superclub nights, but this one wasnt too bad.
All in all good night, the other room was utter shite until joker came on.
