Dropping reggae in a mix

Who here does it? ever just drop a classic reggae tune in at somepoint

Just wondering if it gets done often, like do the two beatmatch well together ect?

Mala Did it @ the last DMZ basically played the original of Burnin then dropped the Coki Refix & he did it with another tune might have been Chase the devil cant remember now. Was sick anway :)

ive heard a few people start sets with old DUB tunes (i.e. King Tubby etc) and that works well.

I've dropped some Augustus Pablo and older King Tubby stuff, as well as various dubs within a set. Usually leads nicely into a chillspot out of some hardhitting madness.

You might want to check out Dubstep Sufferah Volume 2. Has lots of dub and dancehall mixed in with dubstep. Johnny Clark, Iration Steppas, Mickey Murka etc.

i always do that.
i always start the set with a reggae/dub (iration steppas,urban dub,disciples,bush chemists,etc.) and put also some dub tracks within the set between dubstep.
skakas and tubbys tunes fit well with most of the dubstep tunes
