The neuroticism thread

Post by pikeymobile » Tue Nov 03, 2009 5:40 pm

I have panic attacks if I get in a bath that's too hot.

Your turn.

I can't function with or around groups of people..

Unless I have some degree of anonymity..
exp. walking through a party or on the street, no problem..sitting in a resturant..no problem

sitting around a table like - at a meeting - drives me crazy..
family functions..I will be on the floor in front of the TV with the 6 year olds..

having serious issues doing school right now as they are pushing for community..
and I am just not into it at all.
i bet y'all are late on catching the hermetic allegory in every episode - parsons..?
thats pretty urban. - Capture pt
i think everyone would benefit from unicorns - JTMMusicuk

:t:

lol! Well, i have a long history of social anxiety disorder, which i don't have as much today but i'm still uncomfortable and awkward when meeting new people for the first time. I over tend to over analyse things i do and say in situations i'm in and i'm over analytical of every single possible different way of something going wrong before going into a situation. I HATE talking to people on the phone, it so awkward, well for me lol. On the bus to college of a morning i have to get off 20 minutes before the right stop because of how many people are on the bus and walk the rest of the way, when i get off i'm dizzy to the point of feeling like i'm going to throw up. In school i avoided everything that involved me interacting in a new situation, things like interview day etc.

If my environment is a mess it will effect my mood and once i start cleaning i have to attend to every small detail. Everything i do has to be done to a decent enough standard of my liking or else i'll criticise myself heavily for it. Things have to be organised and working properly, that's why if my laptop starts screwing up the way i've organised my desktop or file layout in my documents i will go off on one. My favourite defense mechanism is intellectualisation, i've noticed myself intellectualise stupid things to a ridiculous level lately and then have a moment of sitting there reflecting on how ridiculous something i said was. Oh, and here's a really sad one; when i had an XBox every game i played on my played list had to be of 100G or above or it would make my list look untidy and uneven and it would really get to me  :|.

I think entirely too much, too deeply, and understand too many things, to the point where its unhealthy and not even the least bit beneficial. I'm basically neurotically pensive / indecisive.

I think I'm depressed, and I appear to have an unfortunate tendency to use women.

I can't randomly jam money into my wallet....the bills have to be in increasing denomination, face up. they can't be backwards.

I won't drink a full glass of anything, no matter how big or small the glass is. could be a styrofoam cup must be half. even if I'm terribly thirsty.

For long periods of my life I thought everyone could read my thoughts, and the whole world was playing a massive joke on me.

LOL From ages 8-14 I was convinced there would come a point in my life where all my "bad" thoughts would be replayed in the sky for all the world to see, and I'd be judge on it. So glad I got over that.
