That's a shitload of motivation, thank you!
EDIT: Aren't the rules the same for this thread as they are for the one for WIPs?
Half the time I give and don't even ask to get. There's no point, too many people in this thread who aren't interested in taking some time to listen to peoples tunes. Suppose all we can do is lead by example....

I'm not sure but I think I finally finished this piece of shit track. This was a torture making..
It's my 6th or 7th attempt at Dubstep, but I learned a lot.
The bass and the wobbles and every digital sound you hear in the song is produced by me,
so don't let the numbers fool you; I am a noob, but I think using someone else's wobbles is fucking lame.
So.. I can has feedback?
Cool track man, the intro gives it a lot of atmosphere and the space is really well made following the drums. Lots of room for each sound, very cool. Just the sound effect and :36 might be mixed a bit too loud though man? And the sixth sense quote (the first one) is a bit high in the mix too. Apart from that all seems to be pretty fucking good man. Respect for doing your own synthesis etc, I'm jealous of your sound design skills for sure.

I'm at the stage where i feel my productions are beginning to sound half decent and i have Feedback from DSF to thank for that however it just takes too much Bumping to get there.
Feedback is precious!

gotta do ma bit n give feedback otherwise wont get any myself!
Mid bass is 2 predominant, and could do with a bit more variation. I think dubstep has progessed alot from that sound (early dubstep years)

On Soundcloud if you hit edit above the tune and select make download available (towards the bottom of the page) that should do it.
Or if you don't want everyone and anyone to DL it get a mediafire.com account or something similar and PM the link

The way I learned to design my sounds was I opened up FL and Massive, then played some tracks by 16 bit, and I fooled around with Massive and the effect channels as I listened to their songs. I tried recreate their sick brain-raping sounds.
Exactly which sound effect at 0:36 is too loud? The sound effects there are (in order): sword whoosh > blade cut > horror movie effect > a group of people screaming > air horn with lots of reverb.
Respect for doing your own synthesis etc - Doesn't everyone do their own synths? I thought that was the whole point of all the head-shaking and screaming when people heard a sick bass. I thought we celebrated our favorite producers because they have killer sound design skills, not because they can use a sample.
With that effort, I could become famous using eJay. No, man. I can't let this happen. Check your private messages within an hour. You're going to receive something from me.

Hip-Hop had the advantage of being born before the age of information (the internet).
It had time to develop naturally into the complex subculture it is today. Dubstep didn't have a chance.
If Hip-Hop was a fully developed husky feared by millions, then Dubstep is the inbred chihuahua on steroids incapable of living but adored by billions.

Yo big tune, i like it very much. one criticism, reverb is a bit much, otherwise great.

Ok I would say in particular the air horn is probably a few db too loud, that whole set of sounds is nicely put together but a bit harsh to my ear (listening in studio headphones, peoples experience on monitors may be different). The blade cut and horror movie effect are probably a tiny bit too loud as well. This is all personal preference to me though so I would go changing things unless you yourself aren't happy with them.
What I meant about synthesis is there is a tendency (especially in threads such as this one - I'm guilty to a certain extent) to whore presets, hence the whole "brutal electro" problem where one wobble preset has been in so many songs its silly. So if you start out with an interest and talent for crafting your own sounds from scratch that'll only lead to individual creations and a positive improvement from track to track as your skills improve, as opposed to finding yourself out of presets.
Re: PUT YOUR FINISHED TRACKS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
Thanks, man! About the reverb. Do you mean that in general (for the whole song) or only a few particular sounds?Doctor Dub wrote:the-devo wrote:Hi all,

@stappard
The only reason I wouldn't spend much time balancing the loudness is that, as I said, the song was a pain in the ass. =D
But I probably will do that later on when I get over the exhaustion.
And yeah.. I don't have neither monitors or studio headphones (they were stolen from me).. all I have are my stereo system's speakers (using AUX).
Oh by the way.. an off topic question: Do people still appreciate Digital Mystikz' works? I mean when I ask someone if they like dubstep, they're like "yeh caspa n rusko iz teh awesomez!" which gives me the will to kill.

Wasn't Digital Mystikz the very first band that ever had anything to do with Dubstep? I asked a guy recently if he listened to Skream's songs, or Digital Mystikz, but no reaction.
Rusko is ravestep.. correct me if I'm wrong.
