Re: Bought some new 1210's, and need some help!
I snapped off one of the lead wires from the technics headshell. Learned my lesson there, luckily had a spare headshell.
I'll be trying out some new cartridges, wiring configs. Hopefully it solves the problem

My bet is that this was the problem.madmeesh wrote:I snapped off one of the lead wires from the technics headshell. Learned my lesson there, luckily had a spare headshell.

You need all the wires correctly installed (read the cartridge manual) for this to work.

No no, I hooked up some more perfectly fine after that. I'm just concerned about the crossing of the wires (nothing I can do about that)

What do you mean crossed them, like just how it sounds, or like the red is plugged in where the green goes type thing?madmeesh wrote:No no, I hooked up some more perfectly fine after that. I'm just concerned about the crossing of the wires (nothing I can do about that)

crossed as in white -> white, red -> red, etc. but they are physically crossed. I thought maybe that was wrong, but I asked a buddy and he said that was normal. He thinks its the angle of the needle, but I'm not so sure.
