its also time to recognize that blackdown has put in 5 years of dedicated writing. thats a massive amount of work and grind. he's done a lot for this whole sound, and doesn't get enough credit for it. regardless of whether you agree or disagree with him, you have to show respect where its due. out to you martin!

run by Mala DMZ (who himself has two big surprises in store for 2010 releases-wise-- no, we’re not talking about an album.)
Now.... how about a complete re release of the DMZ catalog? lol i can dream right?
Big up black down!

a brilloant round up of the year by blackdown,
he saw past "brostep" and showed that dubstep being pushed to its limits is a good thing and showed it has been a great year for the music

add to that the fact that the Rinse.fm show is probably my favorite and most consistent radio show pertaining to the music out there.

maybe some of the old heads will remember this, but for the newer people; blackdown was instrumental in getting dubstep digital. the first mp3 downloads on bleep.com from labels like road, dmz, planet mu, boka, hyperdub and others was chiefly spearheaded by him. this is back in early 2004 time, when this sound was barely selling or known outside of london. the bleep store helped get the music heard internationally for non-dj's.

I have no clue what kind of following he has with pitchfork readers who have a deep or passing interest in dubstep, but even bringing up "brostep" publicly like that means the term is officially official.

I know that a term takes on a life of it's own, but it started as a joke on here...and now brostep is going to be seen as a serious term the way Wonky is now a serious (and despised) term.

the internet is a whole other world.

just my thoughts

otherwise the article was sick
:)
