newb wanting opinions

Post by 1up » Mon Dec 18, 2006 3:18 am

Easy all, I'm new to dubstep but not new to making noise. I've heard a bit of Malinese and thats got me thinking about making some beats. I also hear bits of Vybe FM from time to time, but generally I'm very new to the music.

Would appreaciate some constructive feedback on this beat I started t'other day:

This qualify for dubstep? Anyone know any MCs that might be into this kind of beat?

Cheers,

Feeling this cut, the basseline is pretty tight and original.

i dunno if i'd even call this dubstep

i mean i don't wanna be too much of a purist, but it's generally 140bpm and half speed.

this is more along the lines of breaks or big beat. but even aside from me listening thinking it was going to be dubstep, i'm not really liking this much. you seem like you have a good hold on your production equipment, but this isn't really my style.

Downloading now. I'll tell you what I think after work, but I liked the first mix so I'm intersted to see what you have done.

What bpm is this by the way?
