their first album was really good but went down hill a bit. any album that features dan the automator on production and del the funky homosopian rapping can't be anything but great - absolute dream team duo, everything they touched was gold

Gorillaz are awesome - it took me a shocking amount of time to realise it involved Damon Albarn! Ha, but yeah had their first album so long ago, maybe 10 years?

But yeah love em!

From a commercial perspective, Demon Days is one of the best albums released in the last 5-10 years IMHO. Was amazed when I bought that album, and it was a good album for me to transition from rock to Electronic. Was a gateway for me, so I have a lot to thank it for.

The Gorillaz are painfully average, much like most of Damon Albarn's output since Parklife.

I can't remember who it was, but everytime I see Damon 'World Music' Albarn's face, I think of a line from Buzzcocks.... something like "Here's Damon playing a drum called a Bjembemo, which is Ghanian for 'let's sell this biscuit tin to that rich British twat over there' ".

Or something like that.

It's 2 main blokes (although I think the other one just draws shit), and Dan the Automator produced the first album and other early material (their best, more hip-hop orientated stuff), and del tha funkee homosapien collaberated alot, and I'm pretty sure Kid Koala had a hand in some tracks laying down some scratches, although I'm not too sure. Dangermouse produced the last album, hence the more 'pop' feel to it. The first album is devilishly hip-hop, sound check is an amazing track, and dan the automator can produce incredibly well. He gets fuck all credit for it too, everyone thinks albarn did it all himself. Albarn, del, dan and kid koala all collaberated pre-gorillaz first album on Deltron 3030 too.

Yes yes delton is a sick group, Del tha Funkee Homosapien is biggggggggggggg
