Ableton LFO Rate in Session View
Why can't Live make it so that the LFO cut off rate has it own envelope section in session view. In arrangement view it is simple to draw in LFO cutoff rate automation (via the simpler, sampler, albino, etc.)
This would radically change the rate of my dubstep production. Does anyone know if you can actually automate the lfo rate in a clip's envelope parameters?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Ableton LFO Rate in Session View
I'm not familiar with ghost clips, however..... I'm simply wanting to automate, for example, 1/8th note or 16th note, or triplet 8th notes, on the lfo cutoff rate. You would think that one of albeton's own instruments (simpler) would make it so that you can tweak automation of the lfo cutoff rate in a clip.
I hope I'm making some sort of sense.

eh? it's cake in the box.
press the E button, select your device, and automate the lfo sync'd rate (configure the vst to be able to change the lfo rate). automate it unlinked if need be.

I've done that before. I just can't find it under the automation list. Could you tell me exactly what I where I would find this parameter in the simpler? Or say, Albino, after I've already configured the lfo rate to be controllable...... edit: In the clip's envelope mode, of course.

DUMMY clips, not ghost clips sorry, watch this it might help you out....
Basically, you have clips that hold automation info instead of audio, make one at one 1/16th with wave pattern, set that to desired control, filter cutoff for example, and trigger in session view, hope it helps.
EDIT, this one - http://www.thecovertoperators.org/Artic ... the-basics
Im a tad drunk.

Re: Ableton LFO Rate in Session View
in simpler i believe it is called "LFO synced rate".. it will be there in the envelope mode pull down menu for the device... just be sure to set the wobble within the actual device at a higher rate than you plan on using throughout the clip, that way you can use the little step things when automating in envelope mode.DrumVsSpeaker wrote:I've done that before. for albino, it would be the same story, however you won't have the luxury of automating with those steps... instead you will have to work in %s
Re: Ableton LFO Rate in Session View
if you're using Live 7 or earlier, there is a 128-bit (i believe?) parameter limit
albino 3's has way more parameters than allowed, so you won't be able to automate a portion of them.
SOLUTION: Upgrade to Live 8

eehhhh i must be doing something wrong. I found the LFO sync rate but its in some sort of percent instead of listing sixteenths, eights, etc. etc.... I don't understand... still.

Re: Ableton LFO Rate in Session View
Can someone explain this in layman's terms to me? I have tried looking at videos online about dummy clips and I just don't get it!
In fruityloops you could just record any parameter on a part and it would only automate for that part. Recording on channel 9 would automate for the whole song, which is the equivalent of recording automation in arrangement view.
I have Massive set up with the little parameter pad ableton gives you assigned to the modulation, but how do I automate it just for one clip? I guess I'm just being really thick, but I need it laid out step by step.
