Symphony of Science - A Glorious Dawn (WUB Dubstep Remix)
Hello, everyone.
First, if you don't want to read this, go ahead and listen to the song and tell me what you think of it, but I promise you won't regret reading it, or at least I think you won't.
I'm a unsigned artist in my early 20's, I've been making music of various styles since early Junior High and although most are harder 4X4 genres like Hardstyle, Hardcore and Hardtechno I've during the last year turned my head towards more mellow-like and generally enjoyable music (for those without a special interest in the various genres (You know, "normal" people don't enjoy Hardtechno)) like Dubstep and DnB.
I've only finished like, 8 or so non-hardtechno songs this year out of which 5 is Dubstep. Out of those 5 there are 2 which stand out (Meaning, two that aren't just ~ok. I'm not trying to sound arrogant <.<;), that people around me in general have showed interest in, this remix is one of them and I'd like to hear your oppinions on it as well.
The original song "A Glorious Dawn" was made by John, the head behind http://www.symphonyofscience.com which is for those of you who haven't found the hype on YouTube a project in which he strives to make science interesting and beautiful for the regular joe by Auto-Tuning big heads of the cosmos to chilling and beautiful tunes. I contacted John within the first hour of hearing the first song and not many hours later I was sitting in front of my computer with a smile on my face, looking at the remix files for "A Glorious Dawn" he had sent me after listening to my most noticed tune "Under the Ocean" and receiving my question to remix his song. I knew then that it would be an awesome project for me to work on as I already love science and I feel with him on wanting more people to get the info and with his multitrack kit I sat down.
First thing I did was line up his tune and make the original 93BPM song work right with a 4x4 beat on 140BPM, then I made a calm, medium and energetic Dubstep beat for the original "symphony" and vocals, removing his drum layers. The next step for me was adding a wobbly bass that sounded at home, this proved to be a problem as I require to click around on my keyboard to listen to each note to see if I can use that in the melody, doing this along side his instruments playing the original melody proved to be so time consuming that I almost lost interest in the project and for a day or two I actually did, but upon talking with a friend of mine with some music theory behind him at school I got pushed back into the project with the quest of making my own melody to his vocals and thereby eliminating the problem I was having for the past few days. Then I gradually added my own piano, removing his and eventually I had redone the whole melody with pads, choirs and all things chill, having done that there was no longer any problem adding my previously made wobbly bass to the tune. Below you'll get to listen to it and please do comment, I love reading comments.

I like it a lot! Very chilled and sounds great! The vocals are kinda low, but that might just be the style you were going for.
If your giving out some 320s I would love to grab a copy

Hey, thanks for the kind words.
I think I'm just gonna have to normalize the vocals a bit at some points cause I've actually found them to be a bit low and even a bit loud at some points myself, but thanks for the comment.
As for 320s, I've been thinking about it, I might release it at some point, but probably not before the holidays.

Re: Symphony of Science - A Glorious Dawn (WUB Dubstep Remix)
Why, thank you. I was absolutely stunned myself when I found the original and I decided right then that I had to remix it, and for you who want a 320, John will put my remix on his website after I've fixed the vocal volume.
I'm really glad you guys liked it!
