How can you make a filthy, dubstep bass in Garageband?
I am kinda new in the world of producing Dubstep, and I have made some attempts at dubstep and posted them on
my Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/dread1994
I was wondering... Is there any way to make filthy sounds of Cookie Monsta, Suspect, Rusko, etc. on Garageband? and if so, How?

adobe flash is down so I can't check the myspace.
I've only used garageband a few times but it wasn't for me AT ALL. i'm not gonna slate it though.
and to be honest I doubt you're gonna find more than one other head tops on here who uses garage band.

Re: How can you make a filthy, dubstep bass in Garageband?
To be fair, it's a lot better than what i expected from a Garageband track.
What bass are you using? I'm sure in GB you're able to add all the typical effects used in basslines (Bitcrusher/Filters etc) to help you on your way. I'd advise saving up and buying Logic if you're serious about this though (Express is around £130 last time i looked?)

Step 1. Learn basic synthesis.
Step 2. Practise and experiment.
Step 3. Repeat Step 2.

I basically mess with the settings of the analog mono synth, and i use automatic filter to achieve the wobble.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely look into Logic.

is ableton good for making dubstep? I always hear about it being great for djs performing live, but i haven't heard much it being used to produce much.

I fiddle with the demo from time to time. basically just looking and fiddling with demo tracks and see what's going on.
