Hey nice one for checking guys, glad you're feeling this one. I'm afraid we're holding back on the 320s with this one for the moment but we're working on some other stuff which we will be giving away freely soon ;)

Great atmosphere on the intro and wicked vocal sample. The little drum edit before the drop is wicked but I expected the bass to kick a little more here, it's a little bit washed out to my ears and feels a little weak when put up against those wicked drums. The keys that run through the track are lovely but the horn sample feels as if it was a bit of an afterthought.
That sub hit after the breakdown is spot on, it sits really well with the other elements of the track. I'd have a look at introducing it a little earlier in the track...

I'd actually like to thank drokkr for taking the time to give a critical response, hearing what people don't like helps you to improve.

In response:

Glad you liked the intro, that's always a good place to start. I'd like to know what you were listening on though in regards to the first drop, this is quite a subby track, normally I take the time to get some harmonics in the bass to liven it up a bit in the midrange so it can be heard well on all speakers/headphone but I made a concious decision (for better or worse) to keep it subby in the one so you need speakers which can produce the sub to hear it properly (it's defintely there)...maybe it was the wrong decision but it definitely makes stuff shake here haha. The sub hit after the break is actually the same sub but with a pitch slide down so if you're hearing one but not the other I guess its down to the lower frequencies you're not hearing...like I said this was a decision I chose to make but if it's not working for you maybe it was the wrong decision.

I have going to stand up for the trumpet sample though simple because you're the first person who has disliked that, for many other people I have played it to they have said it was the trumpet which made it for them.

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and reply, I don't know what the future is for this track yet but if we decide to rework it I'll bare your comments in mind.

No problem

In response:

The sub is there at the beginning of the track it just, to my ears, felt a little weak against the other elements. It is not a problem with the track just an observation, down to personal preferences probably.
Now, the trumpet. I am not a fan of the sound to tell the truth. Not your one but the actual sound in general. Saxophones too, I bloody hate them :D So, I wouldn't take any comments about horns from me to heart mate...

Also, fair play for coming back with a response too. Usually, the Dubs Section is a load of shite for this. 99% of posts consist of "Big, 320?" and no actual opinions of the music made by folk. I said this before, if I am going to take the time to listen to something - I am going to write something about it.
