A survey, would be useful if anyone could fill this out.

Post by j_j_c » Thu Nov 12, 2009 3:39 pm

I'm doing a market research project for University and would be grateful if anyone could take time to answer these questions.

I've tried to make it multiple choice as that is easier to compile into statistics but if you wish to elaborate, please do.

1) How do you find out about your music?
a) Live or Radio DJ's(including podcasts from websites)
b) The Internet
c) Going into your local record store and listening
d) Listening to previews on online stores(please state which ones)
e) Word of mouth

2) How open are you to new music?
a) Very - I'll listen to anything I can get my hands on
b) Medium - I listen to releases from my favourite record labels and artists
c) Not at all - I need to know a track inside out before I buy it.

3) Do you ever buy music without hearing it first?
a) Yes - If its hyped enough I'll see what the fuss is about.
b) No - I'm very skeptical about new artists.

4) How much money per month do you reckon you spend on music?
a) £50 or less
b) £50 or more
c) £100 or more.

5) Which medium do you purchase more of?
a) Physical - Vinyl, CD, Casette etc
b) Digital - Mp3 etc.

6) What is your favourite music genre?
I know that judging by the name of the forum, it's probably dubstep so be specific!

Any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks. :D

1) How do you find out about your music?
b) The Internet
There are no real record stores in Indonesia, only a handful of CD stores selling very mainstream stuff. The closest HMV for example, is Singapore.

2) How open are you to new music?
b) Medium - I listen to releases from my favourite record labels and artists

3) Do you ever buy music without hearing it first?
a) Yes - If its hyped enough I'll see what the fuss is about.

4) How much money per month do you reckon you spend on music?
a) £50 or less

5) Which medium do you purchase more of?
b) Digital - Mp3 etc.
As stated above, this is through lack of choice. Also Beatport, Amazon and iTunes do not accept Indonesian credit card payments. Neither does Juno. Therefore I am restricted to Chemical & Boomkat as the only two places to accept Indonesian credit cards. That sucks deep.

6) What is your favourite music genre?
Electrotrash, Crunk House, Drum n Bass, Metal.... And yes Dubstep but not too savage. I like the more varied, techy stuff. Really feeling HumanLeft right now.

Good luck with it. :)
