That style of tune was called Eskibeat back in the day, when grime artist Wiley made instrumentals they sounded like that, people called it Eski or Eskibeat, and then eventually it became known as Grime, but early Eski tunes sound quite different from most Grime.
Eski(mo) = Freezing Cold Sounds = Wiley.

Check tracks like Avalanche, Eskimo, Icepole, Igloo Riddim, Snowflake, Pingu (you see where I'm going with this...) and I also have to say Skydive for some reason, because that's one of his best IMO.

Dude def makes some sick music but I have to be honest. this is a bit on the boring side. im sure if this came from someone else in the dubs section, it wouldve got torn apart.

meh, I dunno tbh. If I heard this in the dubs section I'd be pleasantly surprised tbh.

I dunno I loved that ep when it first came out, then went off it a bit and thought only half the tunes were good but it's grow on me and I like it again now.

i love this ep to death! expert tuition, one foot, godzilla, firefly finale??? R U DUMB?
yeah the whole ep is amazing but it took a while for helter skelter, bubble bubble, pumpkin head's revenge etc to grow on me.
ROFL @ "r u dumb?". yes you are correct. I'm dumb. dumb enough to cop it thinking I'd like it. it's not like I've boycotted Zomby altogether, but as far as I'm concerned this EP aint all that.

One Foot
Firefly Finale
Expert Tuition

..the only tunes I liked. and even Firefly Finale is being generous . it's interesting Fractal that (minus godzilla) those are the exact examples you used to say it's a sick EP. essentially, those are the only 3 songs I felt were interesting in compared to the rest of the ep. those offered a LITTLE something different to me.

that's as far as it goes though. one can argue that "oh that's his style" but i've heard far more intense tunes from him than any of these. release was bland

each to their own though. like I said it's not like I'm boycotting his music.

this is how I feel with the one foot ep. if many people had released this they woulda been slated for "being repetitive" and told to "diversify" their sound.

Phidias is fun, but I love Mosaic. If Zomby put out one tune out of those new ones, it'd have to be Mosaic or Aquarium...

If Zomby did release a "funky-gloop" record, what label would he put this on? I'm still fiending for that collab work he did with ACTRESS, that was jaw-dropping good.
