speech

Post by sjerif » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:47 am

hi all,

I'm looking for speech samples, so no accapella's, just spoken words.
Anyone knows where to find such samples?

thanks

Do you not want to make some?

You can find packs of samples all over the internet using Google. Loads of these packs will have "robot vox" or something like that. Tbh tho, they have all been rinsed and you would be better off making your own with your own FX to fit ur song.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

"speech samples" is a bit bloody vague isn't it? Any clues as to what you'd like them to be saying?! Language even?

Trawl through audiobooks, youtube, tv, movies, radio.... well, all the usual places. You can't expect other people to do your sample digging for you!

http://www.soundboards.ws/

Might not be appropriate for what you want but soundboards are good for a laugh, a lot of famous celebrity quotes there.

See Benga's tracks for the preset voices that come with FL.

language or what they are saying isn't the most important thing, I just want some vocals in which something is told or explained.

I don' like the FL voice thing, already messed around with that a lot and I don't like the sound.

I'm not asking for clearcut samples here, but just some sites where I can find the samples I could use, youtube seems like a good start and it will keep me bussy for some days or weeks I guess

Like they say, dig, rip from movies, dig some more, put a mic next to the TV, record the radio, dig some more.

Albums like this and this are also a good start for some weird and wonderful dialogue.

Also sites like badmovies.org have some dialogue snippets - some are so low res they are unusable, but others are pretty good.
