a number of songs/artist on DSF get pasted down that are just too good it be let go, and i believe they need more reward for the amount of work and effect they put in.

Of course a full 360 business plan would be needed, with the right people.

so what would happen? would users present the idea to the top shottas at DSF or is it a user run ting?

who would decide who gets released? or is it a "everyone is getting released" ethos?

and if it aint the latter then who?

not trying to be skeptical or anything....just thinking of the scope of such a thing....

that's some international flex! there would need to be national officers and all that....in some cases even regional!

I would suggest you would want a sticky for submissions - or a soundcloud or both...

Permision from the forum.

Then a couple of people to go through and pick out songs worthy of release
A designer
A promoter / Marketer to hit up Blogs etc (maybe 2 or three peeps)

So maybe 4 / 5 people to pick up the various tasks? (i.e label management) and then the artists are here already.

Good idea, and as previously stated i will be happy to be involved.

I'd be happy as an artist, and there's plenty of dj's for promo mixes and whatnot

this is a great idea - I'd be happy to contribute as an artist/DJ. I also contribute what I could financially - this board produces an excellent body of work that should be released and heard!

prolly would be like doa label (not breakbeat kaos), wouldn't work imo, plus all sides of the forum probably would see even more shit spill over from the dubs section.

Yep, I think they may have pressed a vinyl I am not sure.

I think democratic record labels are a bad idea. I worked for one too, it was a pain and in my opinion, tends to eliminate any chance for groundbreaking music and promotes samey-ness b/c democracy rules as opposed to the vision of 1 person or a small group.

Sorry to be negative, just being honest.

There are artists that definitely need more exposure.
