In this thread I defend wobble

Post by WatchYourStep » Tue Nov 24, 2009 7:04 am

Lately my friends have been telling me a lot about this thing called "arguing on the internet", and my personal philosophy is that I'll try anything once, so here goes:

I can't understand why I see so many threads where people talk about how they hate wobble. I don't know if this is a long-standing joke or what. I think that wobble is a great sound. I think that even today it should still be possible to produce tracks with wobble in them that sound different than other wobblers; you just need a little creativity. Think of it like the world's supply of oil: We'll never run out.

The second part of my argument consists of a list of fantastic tunes, each with its own unique wobble. Play this list when you feel yourself starting to lose faith:

Vista - Iron Fist
Tes La Rok - Uprise
Backdraft - Headcharge VIP
Sarantis - Half Dead
B.Rich - Everyday Hustle (AC Slater Remix)
Pinch - Punisher
Marcus Visionary - Flying Dubs
Kidnappa - Champion Dub
Leon Jean Marie - Bring It On (Rusko Remix)
Trolley Snatcha - The Future
Mistabishi - White Collar Grime
Rob Sparx - Sludge
Barbarix - Gotta Fight
Taz Buckfaster - Inside Job
Leon, J. Rogers - Insomnia (Roommate's Babylon Remix)
Skream - Wibbela

In conclusion, I'm going to go to bed. Stay classy, my dubsteppas!

wobble isnt the problem. nothing wrong with using LFO's. It just so happens that the vast majority of the shit stuff uses wobble, doesnt mean it shouldnt be used.

got nothing against that tune but dont see how it would be the benchmark for wobble, don't seem that interesting or creative imo. Back to the original topic though i personally feel and think this is alot of peoples problem with it is when you get some artists who make tune after tune with just some different speed wobble and no creativity involved pretty much what so ever. But thats just what i think, alot of my mates just love all this crazy ass wom wom wom shit but tbf they do only seem to like it whilst on class A's so i guess that sais something about the music lol

Dude, the best after-school/after-work/after-tryst celery snack ever created is to take a c. stick, spread peanut butter (smooth, chunky, doesn't matter) into the groove, then push some raisins into the peanut butter one by one. My mom called it 'ants on a log' when we were kids, and if I hadn't gotten my wisdom teeth taken out just yesterday, I'd be in my kitchen before I finished this post.

I've never seen such an obvious attempt to flaunt one's seniority. For shame. Good song though.

word for word what i was gonna say

to dismiss punisher as merely a wobbler is selling it short somewhat!

wasn't dismissing it as merely a wobbler, just stating it as a great song that uses wobbly bass. its silly that the term "wobbler" has such negative connotations, especially when you look at all the tunes with wobble we all apparently love...

you're retarded. he's saying that because that's literally how long people have been arguing over "wobble" .

stfu already and do something productive. or at least be a creative troll.

like tell us that lady ga-ga invented wobble in 1975 while doing coke with ronald reagan and david berkowitz at studio 54. thats off the top of my head

people weren't arguing about wobble then...it was more arguing about loefah clones....compared to the shit coming out now that isn't the same thing...

a wobble then wasn't a dirty thing like it is now as now it's guily by association...i mean boxcutter tauhid has mini wobbles in it lol
