being precious about hiphop in 09 is like being a disco fanatic in 1992.

hiphop 'died' in about 94 folks. the rest is just business, yes even you're 'golden era'..

being that precious about anything isnt worth it, but hey im nearly 30 i guess im just 'getting old'.

now wheres the techno?

And as for money I don't think they are short - nearly all UK hiphop headz (especially those with labels) are just rich kids in disguise, pretending to be street - it aint real and don't sound real - sorry!
tbh having seen your posts on this and ldz my only conclusion is that you're pretty good at stating generalised and misinformed opinions (shit) passed off as facts (shit facts). however this is not a new thing, with all certainty its nothing new to me or even particularly interesting to me so i'm happy to leave it there without pause for speculation as to what it is you're out to achieve.

ps. i don't know foreign beggars

Beggars have been holding it down in the UK hip hop scene for ages now. 3 sick albums, several good mixtapes, a few good videos and hundreds of live shows.

The third album is a lot more varied beats-wise and I like the fact that they've got a lot more of a soul influence on this one.

Certainly not for everyone, but also in no way comporable to the Pendulum crowd. Beggars got fans worldwide and get love from a lot of respected DJs like the Stones Throw lot.

Sorry what Stones throw albums or artists projects have Beggars appeared on - lol, none they just pay em to be on theirs, everyone likes someone who can give em money.

So if Beggars albums are sick what do u call something that is actually good.

Hype hype hype - lol - I we wonder why the rest of the english speaking world don't take any notice, until you actually can tell if somethings good or not I suppose the UK hiphop community will always be under the umberella - all patting themseleves on the back.

I aint said Beggars have been on any Stones Throw releases, I said that they get play from that lot in the US - which they do. Also, how do you mean that the rest of the English speaking world dont take notice - Beggars have toured all over, from Australia to Canada.

Beggars 3rd album dont stand up to their first (Asylum Speakers) lyrically, but to dismiss them outright is crazy. Think of all the classic (yes, classic) tunes on that 1st album - Gimme Dat, Frosted Perspeks, HOLD ON, Glacial etc. They helped push UK hip hop to a much wider audience, giving some other talented artists/ groups the chance to shine - heads like Rhyme Asylum, Broke n English etc.

I don't think the Beggars would deny that they are on a hype tip these days at least partly to keep the live shows going strong - there's nothing wrong wit that! However, it would be good if Orifice put down another mega-lyrical tune soon to silence people saying they 'aint hip hop' etc.
