What a stupid fucking attitude thinking Dubstep can't take influence from other genres, as if Dubstep was there from day 1 and wasn't built out of a load of other styles.
Not saying the whole metal-step thing is any good though. But there's no reason not to recognise it as an off-shoot of dubstep. I just listened to 'lonewolf' for the first time, that was fucking shit.
Dubstep is all about the vibe for me (and for most I expect) even if some of the tunes are 'technically' garage/house/whatever, that lonewolf thing wasn't really dubstep at all, just half-time shit goth music.

dubstep's just the bread of the sandwich, the filling is up to the listener/dj/producer

Don't confuse
Midrange/brostep
Metalstep
Both styles have their followers and haters....
--------------------------------------------
Personally, I prefer the sound of electric guitars over screechy 'metalic' synths
Any other artists out there making tunes like Lonewolf - Slayed By Shadows???

Not at all. If I had to choose metal or dubstep it would be metal. That song was just shit that's all.futures_untold wrote:I take it you don't like rock or metal then?therapist wrote:Feckin hope not.futures_untold wrote:

The sound quality is shite. I dunno if that is due to crap production or Youtube encoding?therapist wrote:Not at all. If I had to choose metal or dubstep it would be metal. For me, it ain't the greatest track on the planet, but it is a step in the right direction for the kind of things I want to hear.
I'd rather hear something tighter, with far better production values. More chops and changes, heavier and faster guitars, more prominant bass (but not midrange), and screaming!!!

dig up some of the old breakstep stuff
Re: mEtAlStEp ...hard dubstep with death metal growls, "blast -
i had a lil go at myself
i think its mayb a little to midrangy for my liking but i always wanted to hear a metal scream/roar as a bassline, as metal screaming is pretty powerful, so why not INCORPORATE it into a thingy thing erm yh...
