Bitlab Records, the Hungarian independent label which has already proved its quality by releasing quality melodic electronica and breakbeat dance musics is now back with a new series of free EPs. In the first volume of Dubstep Is Fun!, tracks from the label's two veterans are ready to rage. Noise64's powerful liveacts are not unfamiliar for Hungarian underground clubbers. His set of electroesque-tools within strict artistic boundaries now comes into play with stylistic elements of dub- and breakstep. Again, he rendered some light and very direct, though quality dance-music for all of us.

The label's co-owner, Banyek who has been maintaining Hungarian club sessions and has had the chance to spin music at international gigs such as Sónar, Sperm & NewNew! Festivals, and also has a couple of acclaimed melodic electronica releases in the scene is also here on this release with some new forms and formulas. Analogue sounds and simplistic editing schemes, and suggestive entertaining speech & vocal bits are present within these new set of tracks – something which will be very familiar for the listeners. This time though everything is melted very ironically within the frames of dubstep wobble basses and 8-bit chirping. :e:

Bitlab Records continues is series which gained critical acclaim in Hungary – this time it
also goes international with a mini-compilation. Dubstep is a 'mainstream' style nowadays
– people often say. Yes, it is. At the same time diverse soundscapes and formal elements
are still allowed in it. This is a chance we want to take – you can find many kinds of these
scapes on this compilation: wobble-craziness, a merge of triphop and clownstep, deep
and crunchy drum programming with a touching folksong, polluted and damp dub- and
breakstep sounds – all on one album. Enjoy it, it’s ours!

Bitlab is still looking forward to hearing new works of new producers, and does not feel
reluctant to collaborate with other groups in the non-mainstream music-scene, namely
anyone who is willing to do something selfless against the automated "satis-factory" of the
music industry.
