thanks - it is kinda weird. maybe that's because of the fact that it was made on new year's eve.
as to full version - you mean 320? whay the hell not? i will post link to the 320kbps version of track tomorrow, cuz I'm at work atm and have only the 128 version. besides, the original is 8min long, this is, so-to-say, - abridged version as the introduction part in this one is cut out.

Awesome tune!
The tune is to die for. In all honesty it's one the most original dubstep tracks I've heard since I first heard Amit's "Motherland".
There are only a small few gripes I have with it.
-Boost the sub-bass.
-Add either a split phaser or a filter on the high hats so that overtime you up the wetness so they let those AMAZING female vocals slip in a bit easier.
-Add more decay to the verb on the vox in the intro so his voice sits better in the mix.
Other than that; HOW DO I GET A 320 OF THIS? Please PM me and let me know!
Good luck with your future dub work man, you have a very bright future ahead of you!
Sincerely,
Nathan Rain

Hey. This has a nice live sound to the hats and drums. It's like a smokey jazz club. But darker. Much darker. This is something different. This is like a David Lynch movie score. Quite thick and claustrophobic sounding.
The only thing I'm not keen on are the female vocal samples, but that's simply because I think of Papua new Guinea whenever I hear them. I mean, those vox are most famous for being in that track, so they're hard to shake. Just a personal thing.
But, great to hear something new. Somebody pushing things. I hope to hear this in a mix or two soon.

that's what it leads to when a drumfunk fanatic produces a dubstep tune!two oh one wrote:This has a nice live sound to the hats and drums. It's like a smokey jazz club. But darker. Much darker. This is something different.

as to reminding fsol - hadn't thought about that. actually i was more afraid of the vocal being compared to fanu's footsteps concealed, but if you say it's more like fsol - that's ok with me (never been a real fsol worshipper anyway).

As pointed out earlier this tune will benefit from a proper mix down.
But you got some interesting ideas especially your take on the rhythm patterns. I was a bit dissapointed when I got to the break around 3:40. It gradually builds up again and at 5:56 I really felt that it would kick in even harder than before. But it never happened and the the track just started to wind down. So some small adjusment to the structure of the tune wouldn't be bad IMO. Will follow the further development of this one

no way - sorry, guys. I ain't gonna change a single thing in this piece that regards to composition of the track, cuz it's perfect in my perception. tho, if you want to do a remix - you are kindly welcome!doxxor wrote:I was a bit dissapointed when I got to the break around 3:40. besides, doxxor! have you heard where is my mind by the pixies? when listening to this one, i'm always waiting for a moment when they would make the track BIG. but they don't
- 'after see it swimmin' nothing kicks in and the track winds down to original phase again. and that's what i love about music - unpredictability. sorry if it causes disappointment

I fully understand and respect your perception as an artist. I just wrote the first things that popped into my head after hearing your track. I might hold you up on the remix thing. Will listen to it some more first...oyaarss wrote: no way - sorry, guys. That's funny, because part of what I like about it is the almost randomness/unpredictability of the builds and falls. It goes against what my silly brain is expecting and this is good. If it were a big stomper of a track, I might have been disapointed, but it's more of a slow cooker, just turning over and doing its thing.oyaarss wrote:besides, doxxor! have you heard where is my mind by the pixies? when listening to this one, i'm always waiting for a moment when they would make the track BIG. but they don't- 'after see it swimmin' nothing kicks in and the track winds down to original phase again. and that's what i love about music - unpredictability. sorry if it causes disappointment
Yeah. It's one of my favourite Pixies tracks. I also like the music to surprise and or make me think. And this certainly happend with your tune. So I'm not dissapointed in any way. I think I just heard something that related to my way of making music and that spawned the idea of the track building up not down...oyaarss wrote:besides, doxxor! have you heard where is my mind by the pixies? when listening to this one, i'm always waiting for a moment when they would make the track BIG. but they don't- 'after see it swimmin' nothing kicks in and the track winds down to original phase again. and that's what i love about music - unpredictability. sorry if it causes disappointment

as to compositions - to my humble mind, this is definitely a point where one should push the limits. there's nothing wrong with chorus-verse-chorus-verse tracks, but for how long one can take stuff like this?
+ damn - i shouldn't have started to listen progrock!

sorry, seems there went something wrong, at first download the track stopped at 2 minutes, so I thought it´s just a preview. 320 would be cool though.oyaarss wrote:as to full version - you mean 320?
yeah turn the bass louder!
What I like about it is that it don´t has a usual song strukture, it goes thru different phases and constantly changes, like an acid trip. man this is trippy anyway

AMEN!

I personally would love to do a remix of this tune. What program are you running out of? (Please say Reason 3!)oyaarss wrote:no way - sorry, guys. Hit me up on Aim, or check out my work that I posted in the audio section to tell me if you like my style.
The tune is "Permutation - Midnight (320)" in the audio section.

can't imagine how would the track sound if carried out in breakcore. tho, that's one of the reasons for tryin it out, isnit?
not really much into breackore bizniss - i prefer drumfunk isckness /macc, fanu, paradox, asc, 0=0, equinox and stuff alike/ , but your track is (midnight) is pretty cool (sorry for being short, but i can't analyze something that is unknown to me ..). i say i like it. as to this remix thing - i'll pm you my e-mail
and software? - reason3, of course
