Really. Seriously. Get a fucking grip.

If you want to tickle each other's anuses while you screech in high pitched voices about which producer is better than another FUCK OFF to your own thread to do it.

This thread is about giving a shit about good music that is coming out. Get your heads round that. Please.

Thankyou.

Best thing to come out of Dubstep this year has been Swamp 81 (in it's entirerity) and Silkies album.

Other notable things on a similar vibe have got to be Martyn's stuff, Joy Orbison, James Blake a few other little bits and bobs but I wouldn't put them in the Dubstep basket.
RIP our favourite dish cloth.

If that Four Tet/Burial collab was the only thing which happened this year it would still have been an amazing year for dubstep.

Every time I hear someone moaning about dubstep I just put on my 09 playlist and pass out to tunesss.

this thread is bare jokes. but yeh i get the feelin the tearout stuff is kinda losin momentum, altho some of it was good while it lasted imo; 'gecko' by datsik n 'tnuc' by whoami etc.

...somehow i get the feelin someones gonna throw a shoe at me for sayin that...

but anyway, imo the tearout stuff reached it's peak wit 'goblin' n i dont think ne1s gona make a beta dubstep tearout track. Ever. altho i may be wrong lol. all just my opinion but yeh the scene's changed a lot since its inception but im sure 2010 will bring excitin new sounds n styles.

personally i am especially hyped about any new kryptic minds/swamp81 and antisocial stuff! plus hopefuly some of the less well known producers will have some releases soon (e.g. cessman)

I'd be fine with tearout going by the way side as long as dubstep doesn't get it's nads cut off entirely. Or it's all Boregore on one side and Burial on the other. That is how dnb lost me too, it was either panty droppers and lullabyes or superhardcoremetalstep or played out neuro with nothing in between. All I know is there is still something here for me :D

There's a lot of life in the beast yet. When a sound breaks, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that it'll be followed by a torrent of tunes that are derivative etc.
Happened to Jungle, Happened to D&B, Happened to electronica, Happened to Hip Hop and so on....
That doesn't mean that it's a foregone conclusion that exciting, relevant music isn't being made. Tear out vs. deep, Gully vs. Medi, the bottom line is its Horses for courses.
Constructive articulate debate pushes a sound forward. There's been waaay to many threads here recently that have missed the mark in that respect. No disrespect to the peeps posting here intended. 2010 should be an eagerly anticipated year, IMO, there's some truly amazing stuff around when you dig.
Righto, I'll put the worlds tiniest Violin away now. :i:
